In all fairness the 93 4th gens did not move me either but I then fell in love with my 95 drop top.

I did not like the tall look with chop top like windows, the very "plastic'y" dash and the trunk style rear body section. That trunk opening is crazy small too.

Of course the LS3 is bad ***.

I will even venture to say I might like the look of the Mustang better as of right now. Maybe things will change. Just have to wait and see.

 

$47k cannot be actual msrp for the car unless it has the 21's/body kit. Find another and don't pay over sticker.

 

Don't judge the car until you can drive it. That's the most important thing when deciding which car to buy.

 

47k is ridiculous. As far as the,"plasicky" dash, I like it. Better then the,"plasticky mustang dash. Because they are BOTH plasticky. Buy a mustang.

I agree. The price is the big turn off on these cars. I think GM is a little over market, and that in a couple years there will be some big incentives. I think the 5th gen V6's are in or above the price of the 4th gens. It is a great car, I am not knocking it, but $47k for a Camaro is nuts. It will be worth less than half that in three years.

In 1989, my brand new loaded Mustang GT was 12.5K IIRC. In 1995 my loaded Z28 Vert was 27K. Damn things have gotten expensive.

 

I think you'd be hard pressed to option out a 2SS to 47k, sounds like there was a "stealer" value added package included, also known as extra dealer markup. I would agree with your feelings about that particular price, the rest of your perceptions are.....your perceptions, mine are different than yours as I like most everything about the new Camaro.

An SS will run you $36k... if they are selling it for $47k... go to another dealership.

The sticker said 47K , must have had some premium stuff. I am not looking to buy, I was just checking it out. Mid 30's seems much more practical.

The maximum sticker price of a 5th gen Camaro with no dealer markup and no dealer-installed accessories is $38,775. That's an SS automatic, with the RS package, polished wheels, heated leather seats, the better stereo, a sunroof, Red Jewel Tintcoat paint with hood stripes, and the Inferno Orange interior trim package.

An SS starts at $31,040 (manual trans, cloth seats).

If it was listed at 47k, it either had every possible dealer option (I tried it; without ordering multiples of something, the highest you can get is $46,120), or the dealer adjusted the price to pad his own wallet. Odds are in favor of the latter. Try a different dealership, and make sure you let the general manager of that dealership know that his greed is making you shop elsewhere.

 

Maybe they are just adding in the V.A.T. a little early?

 

Kentucky doesn't have a VAT that I'm aware of. They have a 6% sales tax, which brings the fully-loaded (without dealer accessories) total to $41,101.
