Ambient Lighting Question on IO interior package

I have a customer's car at work that is IOM and has the IO interior package. For those who have gotten this interior package, does the ambient lighting need to be turned on through some option or enabled in some way? In the little time I had at work to search for this, I didn't find anything about the ambient lighting in the owner's manual or SI. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The cars I've seen with the lighting package had the lighting on as long as the lights were on. It's very hard to see at anything more than a "dusk" type of light. At night I imagine it's more than enough. Something I also noticed is that, the way the lighting is done, it's only really visible from the side, not looking down at it. Maybe to cut the glare from the windows at night.
