Post Silly questions, but an easy one for you install guys. Need help!

Ok,

I have an Alpine CVA-1005 with a six disc changer

2 Alpine Amps

2 Alpine Type R Series 10 inch subs

I plan on getting 4 Alpine Type R Series 6.5 full range speakers when I get some cash saved up for it.

For now, I am going to use my old Infinity Kappa full range 6.5's to hold me over...

My question is:

Currently they are installed in my old 95 V6 Camaro. I want to use them until I get my Alpine's but I don't want to lose speakers in the Camaro.

So...

My plan is to hook up my current speakers that are in my 99 SS and swap them with the Kappa's.

Is there any problem putting them in a 1995 Camaro? (They are the monsoon speakers)

The reason I ask is I heard they have amps installed on them? Would this cause problems with the deck in the 1995 Camaro? It has a Kenwood excelon deck.

Yea, you're going to run into issues with the Monsoon speakers. AFAIK they're a weird impeadence and power handling. I don't believe that they will work with the Kenwood HU, I may be wrong though...

I gotcha,

Well...

I may say forget the Kappa's and keep em in the 95 Camaro and just wire my CVA-1005 up to my stock Monsoon speakers until I can order my alpine speakers next month. I just want to get this all started.

I can basically just go to wallmart and buy a stock GM Harness and wire those puppies up to my CVA without trouble eh? Do I need to disconnect the monsoon amp near the rear spare tire well? How is the amp hooked up to the speakers? To the headunit --> speakers or are the speakers directly hooked to the amp? If they are, I will have to much power going to them right?

If you're going to wire the CVA-1005 into the Monsoon system for now you're going to need the PAC adapter, the normal GM one WON'T work for the monsoon system. Do a search on google for PAC audio and you should com up with the adapter, I forgot the exact part number. You don't need to do anything with the amp till you rip the whole setup out when the new setup goes in.

Heh,

Just got back from there...I feel like an idiot. Here I am asking for answers and they are right under my nose.

I must say, that is the best FAQ I have ever read. It answered EVERYTHING...

Except for a few questions I had on amps and the remote wire concerning an Alpine CVA

Thanks and sorry for the spam. I guess the search feature and FAQS are my new friend!
