We drove it in crap weather here:

You were posting about getting the Camaro LT, right? When I drove the LT, I looked at Scott Settlemire who was in the passenger seat and said, "I could drive this car here in crappy Detroit traffic on crappy Detroit roads in crappy Michigan weather, all day...every day." I meant it.

If you get an SS, make sure you have a set of all season tires to swap on the car when winter comes. I've gotten stuck in a snow storm trying to drive up 3% grade to the Proving Grounds with summer tires on the car. That was a hair raising trip to work. The guys in the big gravel trucks behind me were not happy.

I agree, tires are very important. We drove Number 3 to California and left in a huge snow storm with little incident other than going slow. Also most RWD cars won't go up my driveway in the winter unless I've shoveled. Number 3 with the All Season tires was never a problem.
My wifes SS just had the all seasons removed and had the production summer Pirellis put on. With the all season tires, it really drove well in the the snow.
Its all in the tires.

I'm kind of in the same predicament. I think we get a bit more snow up here than you guys also
I'm thinking worst case scenario I can just take a taxi to work on the really bad days or maybe just call in sick LOL

Probably better to get some winter tires
allseason tires - good at everything, great at nothing
