I don't know if there are any posts left here from the guys that used to run Nashville Speed&Performance, but if there are, you should read them. One of the biggest complaints I hear from shop owners is the rock-bottom prices they're forced to sell products at because their competitors price match or do GPs and blow them out of the water if they don't keep up.
There are a lot of issues to deal with in running a shop besides thin margins. Does the shop have a presence on the Internet, because if they do, it can get to be a full time job just keeping up with all the different message boards. There are quite a few established Vette/F-body shops in the area. What will be your drawing card that will convince people yours is the best choice? If it comes down to price, you're back dealing with think margins again and trying to figure out how to break even, let alone turn a profit.
As for starting a club, why reinvent the wheel? This is the MFBA's section. Our club ended up growing to the point where we needed our own message board. Feel free to stop by- MFBA

it wouldnt suck that bad to live around all those ricers, sure the fart pipes smell bad and they sound even worse, but it has to be fun to screw around with them all the time

www.mfba.org check that link out. There is a WI section on the board, and a lot of them are from the Milwaukee area too that post there.

If you serious about it let me know. I have 5 friends with f-bodies. As for the shop, I honestly think there is too much competition around here.
