Claim to fame for the LLT V-6

After doing some research last night, I'm confident I've found two cool bragging rights of the 3.6L. With 304 HP, the 3.6 is the most powerful V-6 you can buy that uses 87 octane. Secondly, if GM's estimate of 27 MPG holds up, the 3.6 will be the most fuel efficient car you can buy with more than 300 HP. If anyone can refute my data, feel free to chime in.

Hey, on the freeway I've averaged 30mpg!! On 87, of course. No need to put anything but 87 in that engine.

Didn't the final end up at 29 Highway?

How did Number 3 do on its trip out West? Did you meet or exceed the 29mpg figure?

Did not exceed. Got close on several tanks. But again, I have avoided stating the MPG which would then require documenting my speed to explain it. I believe that sticking to the speed limit in a 65 mph state will easily match the EPA number. Can't say how much more you could get, but you probably could do better.

Also, keep in mind when Number 3 was built, the EPA number was 27. And that I did. I am sure there were tweaks over the past month that enabled getting 29.
