Dealer mark up?

Since General motors is in financial trouble does it now make any fiscal sense for dealers to now sale the camaro with markups seeing how there futures are tied to gm's successa?

The law of supply and demand is always in effect no matter what the product is. But the real question is will GM survive long enough to build the fifth gen car.

I ordered mine this past Saturday. They reported having ordered several at $5,000 over MSRP. He said they were only allocated for 12 total. Since I buy a new vehicle every year and get the GM supplier discount they agreed to sell it to me MSRP. They may have been "jerking my chain" but I have been dealing with the same salesman for years.

Maybe some. I ordered mine in Florida 12 Dec - today and the 2LT base was 26,580...which is a little less than the Camaro Builder. All the options I got were the same as. So it will depend on the dealer I think.

I ordered mine today and they sold it at at msrp it was and 2ss and started at 33k. I've seen it sell for 34k as msrp in some other states. Dealer cost is 31k so they aren't making too much at the dealer. I'm surprised since some of the challengers went for more then 5k over msrp around here.

My dealer has only sold half of their allocation of 50 so far. I got mine at MSRP, so I'd assume anyone else could walk in and get MSRP on one too.

They are full of it!
Anyone that pays over MSRP is totally brain dead & gets what they deserve. Ripped Off!

Maybe so! I hate paying MSRP because I get GM Supplier Discount pricing. This is the first time I've paid over invoice in a long time. I just couldn't wait though.

Me too...but I can't wait any longer for this car. Ouch...this hurts so bad to pay MSRP!

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I don't want to wait one or two years to get the discount. I am too stoked!

I have been to 2 different dealers in houston and while both of them tried to add $1000 to MSRP they both agreed to sell it at MSRP. Has anyone had any luck on haggling prices of these different options? I know I cant get the car any cheaper then msrp but what about all the different options, i mean the dealer is making money off of them too.

Courtesy chevrolet in San Diego told me they are charging a $5000 markup on the SS's. I told them I'd take my business elsewhere. Feel sorry for all the fools who are going to pay that.

You get the discount, but they're selling it to you for MSRP, and they've got you convinced that they're giving you a deal? Those jerks don't know how to treat a loyal customer.

Go to a different dealership. There are plenty that will sell it to you at the regular supplier discount price.
