1/4 mile
I don't know if this question has been asked, but does anyone know what the quarter mile times are looking like for the V6?
I would love to have a little fun at Maple Grove with my stock V6 when I get it and possibly beat a few imports and Mustangs in the process.
Any thoughts?

It would be even better if you could get a limited slip diff in the V6. Pretty much the biggest oversight as far as performance cred in the V6 goes.

I think somebody at Indy (Al, possibly) said they had gotten the 1/4 down to around 14.0 seconds. But don't quote me...
And Matt, the LSD is standard on the V6 with the manual, but as far as the automatic is concerned, I agree with you (because it's not even an option)

0-60 in 6.0 (or 5.9), but the 1/4 is 14.5-14.6.
Best regardSS,

That seems kind of slow for 300 horses, anyone agree?

Not when you consider its weight: 3,750lbs in base form (more with options). Mid 14's sounds about right.
The car closest to it which would be the DI CTS runs around mid 14's from what i've heard and it's within a hundred lbs of the camaro's weight.
I'm hoping and i think we'll see some low 14's with great drivers and conditions, but i expect mid 14's to be the norm.

There is going to be a wide range of times depending on weather and driver skill. I managed a 14.3 with just a verter and gears out of a lighter 200hp 3.8 4th gen. This time there is more weight, but there is also a much more potent engine that will respond better to mods. For now, it's all speculation, but I wouldn't be shocked if a good driver got into the 13s stock. I'm not saying it will happen, it just wouldn't shock me. This A6 is geared much more aggressively. V6s biggest problem is no torque down low. This car stock is like the 4th gen with 4.10s off the line. The first gear is really steep. Then add the fact that this 300hp is not just any 300hp, it's got a very fat torque curve that starts pretty low. This 300hp is much more then if you modded a 3.8 to 300hp.

Very close to LT1 territory. Good thing I'll be in the 12's before they come out.

I have a G6 which is virtually the same car as the Malibu and i thought it weighed right around 3400 lbs, so it comes in a good bit lighter than the V6 5th gen. Add in the fact that you're going FWD to RWD, the transmission is completely different, and I thought it was a very different engine too... so it's very much apples to oranges. That's an impressive time you ran though!

I thought so too....so did the AMG mercedes that i beat....lol. i raced it for more of a joke than anything figuring on like a 16.xx or so. the reason i said around the same wieght is that, the gwr rating is 4500....and i under stand you usually take about 600lbs off of that. From what i understand the Malibu is little bigger than the G6, it has the same wheelbase as the impala and is just a lil shorter. Well for what its worth, my LT1 Vert (which is closer to the same hp, and wieght), ran a 13.9 stock. I think this new v6 will be hanging in there with stock GT's.....which will be funny as hell.

This positive talk is really making me pretty optimistic about my choice to go with the V6. Money is kind of tight, but after seeing the Speed special on the 2010 Mustang I feel that I want to buy the 5th Gen more than ever now. I would love to pull up next to a base V6 Mustang and run somewhere in the 13s because I know I will not only beat it but it won't even be close. At first I was disappointed with the 13 number, but I know as time goes on I can make it hit somewhere in the high 12s.

Ah. I have an I4 which lists at 3400 lbs. I didn't think the V6 versions would add that much weight.
