Question Universal Home Remote

In the 2LT Equipment Group, there is a listing for a "Universal Home Remote". Anybody know what that is?

I *think* that is just the programmable garage door opener aka Homelink, but could be wrong.

Can you encode a key sequence into these things, or is it just press x to open?

I'd just as soon not have it. My garage door openers change frequency every time the door opens, so this will probably be useless.

If it uses the Homelink or X10 protocol and has multiple functions, that would be cool. It would ne nice to be able to turn on security lighting and other devices when you drive up to the house.

My garage door opener is only a few years old so it has the security feature to change codes each time, my 02 Trailblazer has the built in remote and has worked fine since day 1. Nice not having that remote hanging off my visor

So it's a nice bonus for me. Would I pay extra for just that feature? Not for very much.
