Supercharger Sound/whine??

This may be an ignorant question. But, I am wondering if all of your blower kits have the loud whine sound? I realize some of the noise is the forced air, and some maybe the drive belt.

Since, I am still in the planning phase of my built 383. I am kind of sleeper kind of car guy. It would be cool to have 600+ rwhp LT1 with only an aggressive cam sound.

Call911's car sounds awesome!!

umm...personally I never thought a muscle car could ever really be a sleeper...But thats just me...Those days are long gone since all these new cars came out...Anywho, it depends how big the unit it I think, cause a lot of blowers for fbods arent too loud, like the cobras...but there are some units that scream

whine

The actual noise you hear is gear whine My S-trim has straighter gears then say the S-trim sq. The SQ have a helical shape to them. Kinda like ring gear and pinion but not near to that degree.

Don't get me wrong, I do think the supercharger whine sounds real tough.

Yea, I understand what you are saying. I guess I am little old school. One of my all time favorite cars is the 69 427 COPO Camaro. It doesn't get anymore sleeper than that.

And, before anyone asks, I am not really interested in N2o

It has a vortech mondo bypass valve which are usually very loud and some would say annoying. So I built a silencer out of pvc pipe and fiberglass that muffles the sound of rushing air coming out of the bypass valve. I prefer to hear the sound of the exhaust and whine of the supercharger. It has 3" magnaflow cats and hooker exhaust which give it a really deep exhaust note.

I also put second skin inside the car so it would be quiet inside the car. Listen to the inside of the car vs the outside.

Hp and Torque is around 550 since I pulley down to 10 psi for traction. Thanks for the kind words. I like it too.

Steve-Maybe it was just the angle and lack of light under the hood, but it appeared as if you weren't running an air filter/inlet tube.

97Ws6Pilot your F1A is quiet.

Here's my F1 and I love the way it sounds. I'm running the Big Red BPV vented to atmosphere and it's the coolest sound I've heard.

If you're cammed and trying to keep the blower from letting the cat out the bag you're still not considered a sleeper in my book.

Your going to need a real small cam and a vortech SQ to stay as quiet as your talking about. Why not add a little n2o?

It was just the lighting. I have a procharger black plastic inlet and custom tubing deep into the fender with a 9" K&N Cone filter.

Thanks. Its quieter than my buddies Lexus on the inside. The outside is fairly quiet until I go WOT. BTW its good to hear yours running. Sounds like it running pretty good.
