wheel size
I dunno, but I don't really like how big the wheels are, I don't think they should have designed the car with wheels bigger than 18 inches.

I'm just not much for bigger wheels I guess, unless its on a truck or suv. Plus it makes the car harder to stop. I'm not too hot on the idea of having 22 inch wheels on a camaro

i agree i think the same size wheels on the vette or even the z06 would be a good size
also gm hasent even put 20's on the vette yet i dont think they would put them on the camaro 1st

I like the wheel design, just not the size. overall that car is ****ing awesome though. I remember seeing the sketches for the first time back in 2005.

I guess I'm in the minority here when I say I want the concept design in a 20 inch ..
I could also care less about the 1320 times too.. as long as its fun for me to drive I don't care if something else out runs me. This car will be a daily driver for me, personally limiting it to even 18's means aftermarket for me and less money in GM's pocket.

it's not about just a performance aspect, I think the camaro should stick with the muscle car look, not like it came right out of a rap video

My daily driver came with 20s from the factory, and it is not "ghetto" looking. That look might share the number, but not the style, IMO.
For a different perspective, those who want to do some hardcore racing probably won't use factory wheels no matter what the size is.
The brakes won't be weak by any standards, and will be able to make the car stop within very respectable no matter how big the factory wheels are.
I think that the car was desgined for a larger wheel (most mid-lux cars are these days) and a smaller wheel on it won't look right in every day situations.

The car doesn't look horrible with them on it, but just in my opinion I think it would look a lot better with 17 or 18 inch wheels. Now something like the cadillac 16 having 24's on it from the factory, that's fine. That is a huge car and the wheel size complements the overall stature of the car, but not soo much for the camaro. I've seen camaros that were slammed and had big wheels like that tucked up in the fender wells and were done right and they looked good. But my thought is that big wheels are mean't for show cars and to look flashy. I think it should be up to the buyer to determine if they want their car like that. The camaro is supposed to be for performance, looking good is left to the magnificant body lines of the car. Now I'm sure the factory brakes will stop the car just fine with wheels that size, gm wouldn't put that car out if they didn't, but if they kept the larger brakes on the car and came with 18's or something, that would be great.

I think your under a mis-conception here...
20's won't be standard, they will be an option(at least I believe they will)
I'm pretty sure that something in the 17" or 18" range will be the standard wheel regardless of trim model.

well, I hope that would be the case. Hopefully everyone can be made happy. thats just the one thing I cant get over about that car.

I saw 5 cars this weekend with 20's and larger, all looked ghetto, and some just plain rediculous. A '78 Impala, an '85 MonteCarlo, an '86 Z28, a '96 Crown Vic, '89 Caddy...or real close on years.
They looked like carraiges that should've been pulled by a horse...

That's my point...20" wheels do not mean "ghetto". Ghetto wheels on '78 Impalas are "ghetto" in any size. Pro touring cars are automatically ghetto since they have 20" wheels? It is not a number, it is a style that I realistically have a very hard time imagining the next Camaro to adopt from the factory. I am sure that one of the cars you listed has the same or close CID as one of your cars in your sig. I guess that means your cars are ghetto as well.

Maybe the wheel style itself doesn't say "ghetto". But the outsize look of 20" still says "disproportionate". Non-running concept at best. There is absolutely no need for any reasonable car to be riding on a wheel/tire package that's barely a couple of inches shorter than the mud tires used to be on pickup trucks.
It draws the eye away from the lines of the car - then again, maybe that's the whole point. Use the 'flash' at the two ends to keep people from realizing that all the stuff in between is getting taller, boxier, and more truck-like all the time. Why bother with graceful styling when you can put 20" or larger wheels on a box and some crowd will buy it?

after seeing those pics of the camaro mule on the street. i change my mind about 17" and 18" that should go on the car. 20" looks great on the camaro
