Concept vs. Preproduction rear

IMPO the rear of the silver concept has a much better looking rear than the white preproduction model. I've been noticing slight but defining changes on the body of the car. Maybe it's for production reasons of some sort but for instance they have stretched the rear of the car maybe to make room for an actual trunk, and they have added more curves to the rear as well. I know i seem obsessed with the rear of the car but it was my fav of the concept and a deciding purchase factor.

so leave ur comments and thought, btw its my first post, but i've been reading for weeks.

I guess I don't see much of a difference at all apart from minor details such as the marker lights, exhaust outlets and the fender mounted gas cap (which I will mourn). To me the architecture of the car is remarkably close to the concept. I think the trunk looks longer because there is no spoiler on the pre-production car leaving a larger flat horizontal surface. Also all of pre-production & spy photos combined don't have a fraction of the effort, lenses, lighting, processing and compostion put into any one of the photos of the concept. When real photogs get real access to real 5th gens I'm bettin' we'll see stuff that will blow our socks off.

Or I could be wrong. Can't wait to find out.

i do applaud gm for keeping their promise as far as staying true the concept. i did't think of the process for the concept over the pre-production model ...... i'm just wishing it turns out better than the stang which shouldn't be hard. but other than that i hope there are some decent aftermarket parts for it, and a good looking V6 if the Z/28 is out of my price range.

There are slight differences - but nothing drastic, imo. And when you consider how pretty much every other car went from concept to production - the Camaro Team has done an OUTSTANDING job...but slap on a spoiler, and the concept's paintjob...and I'd bet 1,000,000 dollars, that the 'WTF' would change to at least a 'okay'.

And truth be told, I honestly like the new rear a little better. that flare they've added for bumper standards actually looks good to me......

I like the pre-pro rear quite a bit more than the concept. Less flat, more character.

It's funny this was brought up. This is the ONLY aspect of the pre-prod exterior i'm not thrilled with. I don't care for the extra line at the bottom of the bumper. I'm hoping that piece may be different depending on whether it's v6 vs v8, though I'm not holding my breath. The back of the concept was absolute perfection for me. All in all, this is a small thing considering how well they pegged it elsewhere, but it's worth mentioning.

After fondling every square inch of the concept Camaro the last couple years from our personal memory bank, it's not hard to understand how every deviation from the concept to the pre-production car is large in our eyes.

The tail is definitely more busier on the pre-prod.

both nice cars. spoiler is a must and the tail lights being indented is really cool. Add the chevy boe tie and it close enough for me while still be pre production. I am sure the mass production model will be different too.

I hate the bulging door handle and the oversize fin antenna, the concept looked better.

The location of the reverse lights is awful. I also don't like the second bumper above the plate. The G35 is almost totally smooth so I don't see why Camaro has to have that?

You gotta be freaking kidding me! A photochop of the pre production as the comparison against professionally shot pics of the concept?

Said this in another thread, but the chrome around the taillights is much more blatant on the pre-pro model. Not sure why this is because the rest of the car is chrome-free.
