Cool The Passion of the Camaro.

I feel like writing something...

Granted I haven't been on this site as long as some but I've been around f-Bodies since I was a toddler. I've owned 2 F-Bodies and the passion seems to be almost unyielding. GM has such a backing behind this vehicle that they have spent the past how many years perfecting it. The time spent with out an F-Body at the dealerships has created a lot of anticipation. Leaving a lot of us almost stalking the dealerships waiting for some kind of sign.

The vivid imagination pictures a 2010 model Camaro sitting in the showroom. The smell of the new car is an intoxicating aroma. The excitement of that aroma is amplified when the essence of a NEW generation of muscle car is with in arms reach. The paint is still not quite cured, but the dream of applying a fresh coat of wax is overpowering. The scent of detailing products and the scent of a NEW muscle car is enough to almost make someone cry.

This has been a long time coming. The passion is still there, the respect is still there, the feeling of thrust is unmatched. There may be no other such feeling than being gently pressed into the new seat while listening to the symphony of eight cylinders singing that glorious tune. Caressing the throttle and applying subtle changes to the leather wrapped steering wheel. You run your thumbs over the gold Chevrolet emblem in the center of the wheel, almost a caressing touch. Selecting the next forward cog, you gently ease into the throttle, that familiar song emanates through the passenger compartment once more.

Taking a quick glance upward you see the trees through the open sunroof. You can't help but smile with a sense of satisfaction. You have waited for this moment for a long time and now it is here. Take in the details, each one combines to create a euphoric experience. The passion and the overall experience is almost too much to take in with just the eyes alone. Your senses are at their peak, your sense of touch is amplified, your ears can detect the slightest change in throttle, the aroma almost seems to clear your sinuses, the leather seat seems to hug your entire body. One hand on the shifter, one hand on the wheel, one foot for the gas, the other for the clutch...

Take it in... Enjoy the full experience....

You are driving a new Camaro...

Well-written piece! Reminds of the new C6 I had the chance to drive! Talk about etching a grin.

The once familiar aroma has ceased to fill the ever changing dealership showroom. The future is here, the future is now. Soon enough, my friends, that same aroma of assembly oil and detailing products will yet again peak our senses. The production time has left us salivating like a pack of hungry wolves awaiting a new arrival. The scent can be picked up even with time. The imagination runs ramped with thoughts of modifications and to what the future will bring. Thoughts of liberation and content at the hand of the awaiting prize.

Patience....... Patience..........

When that faithful time graces our lives, the anticipation will have passed. We will then know for sure. What greater feeling is there than the unknown? The unknown brings uncertainty, but I assure you there will be no mistake about what is to come. The sheer merit of accomplishment will be to us all. This is an energizing time. Looking to what will unfold before us is the excitement we crave. Is it really uncertainty or fear? Fear not being negative, but unknowing. The anticipation has left our senses battered, but only to be alleviated with time. Looking to the past, the present seems never ending.

Patience........Patience........

There will soon be a once familiar sense of awe upon the awaited date. Affirmation of the finished product will leave us all speechless, I am sure of it. Awe and acceptance felt upon your first glance of a new generation of Muscle. The senses are racing upon what you behold. The NEW generation is UPON US ALL!!

Tell me now if the awaited time was worth the delay....

Nice read...thank you.

When I read threads like this it makes me forget all the "I hate the interior, I'm not buying one" threads and just think ahead to that day that I'll be picking mine up.

I've posted this in another thread a few weeks back....but it sums up what I'll be thinking the first time I turn the key...(in the words of that chick in the CTS commercial)..."the real question is when you turn your car on, does it return the favor." That and FINALLY THE WAIT IS OVER! (as I drop the hammer out of the dealership).

The only downside about getting my new Camaro is that I KNOW the folks at the stealership are going to be mad at me as I leave two strips of rubber in their parking lot.

I like reading things like this. Thank you Bayer. You've just put feelings that have been swelling inside me into words. Something that I just didn't have time, nor the patience to do....

Wonderful piece. Like a cloud that we can all sit on, and stare down at....'people'

GREAT piece of writing! thank you!

Just wait until I take the left-seat for the first time. You guys will be wanting your read-time back. I will write a mini-novel!

Bayer -- EXCELLENT post. Its about the passion, not the particulars. If you dont "get it" you WON'T "Get IT!!" That speaks volumes in itself.

I'm gonna be in the Get IT club. Patience

Patience.

One more time: Patience.

It will be worth the wait. I just KNOW.

Anyone want to start a "waiting for my Camaro Haiku" thread?
