It's over for me. No way I will buy a car with an interior looking like that.

Should we wait until we know the interior, or not?
Recent cobbled, poorly lit, cluttered and unauthorized spy pix of the new Camaro's prototype interior have led to a lot of discussion here. Some are ready to throw the towel in on ever buying a new Camaro, based solely on these pictures. This first group is superficially putting an incomplete perception of what *might* be the interior above all else in their decision, even disregarding the car's other merits (such as its striking exterior styling and what will likely be some very powerful powertrain options, advanced design features, and value-oriented Chevy pricing). Others however, suggest caution and that we wait until the production car's interior is released, especially so people can sit in and drive in a real Camaro interior instead of looking at flat, half-done pix. What do you plan to do?
A. It's over for me. No way I will buy a car with an interior looking like that. Gads, you can't even read the radio display!*
or,
B. I plan to wait and see. We currently do not have a real depiction of the production interior, its fit & finish, ergonomics, features, and pricing. I plan to drive a real Camaro before making any real decisions.
*note from above. It is not clear whether the spy pix even showed a radio in the car. It is after all, a prototype adorned with electrical tape. Not to mention, no power was applied to the accessories in the photos, so no way of telling what it's like to operate that interior's controls and displays.....

Definetly plan to wait and see, especially since I like the direction that they're going that we've seen from the spy pics.

At this point, from what I have seen of the design direction, "no", I will not be buying one -- though I obviously want to see the finished interior. But unless Chevy does a complete 180* with it (which I don't see happening), I'm not expecting to be changing my tune much.

I'd say this poll is flawed and unscientific - so there.
Maybe plenty of people are turned off by the interior, but will still consider the Camaro in spite of it. Where is THAT choice?
Also, by your logic, no one has a right to form an opinion on the interior based on what has been seen. Is that right?
Well, what about all those people who say "I LOVE IT!". By your logic, they have no right to say that, because how could they form such an opinion from an unfinished interior.
So in the spirit of equal time and fair and balanced posting, I think you should post about a dozen obnoxious and annoying posts aimed at those people who like the interior - lambasting them about their "unscientific" opinions. Really, how dare they.

This poll is obviously a 'push' poll. I created it partly to make a point about that. Perhaps the ones who love it, also loved the concept? Just like with those who disliked the concept... nothing wrong with that either. However I do draw distinctions when anyone starts pointing to a poll, implying 'scientific' results.
Everyone's entitled to their opinions. Some folks form opinions based on more facts than others do... and some folks choose to wait until there are enough facts about the issue at hand before deciding....

I voted 'wait', because it's the logical, and practical (and frankly, ONLY choice there should be). Even though I liked all the plastic place-holders they had in there.

Wow, great poll. A full 1/3 of the repondents so far have decided against the car because of it's ugly interior. Even if it's not a majority, that still has to be disconcerting news for a car that needs to be a homerun.
edit: btw, i had an unscientific thought. First off, this poll is never going to get the hit numbers of the first because the 5th gen buzz and number of people checking up on its news is way down. But even with that, here's how i'm guessing thigs are breaking down:
First poll = i like retro (1/3) , i want modern (2/3)
Second poll = i dislike retro (1/3), i'll wait and see (2/3)
Notice how those polls overlap. The 'dislike retro' group fits into the 'i want modern' group of the first. The ' wait and see group' of the second fits into the 'i like retro' group. So by flawed and unscientific deduction, we have 1/3 who like retro, 1/3 who dislike retro and 1/3 who are truly 'wait and see'.
If only the first poll when the site was jumping had those 3 choices.

Understand. I'm not laughing at you. But I AM laughing, at the notion that from a microscopic sample of SEVEN respondents, some might try to actually draw conclusions

Wait and see is the logical answer. Who knows what we saw on the spy pics. Color, fit and finish and materials used can go a long way to making even what was seen in the spy pics look very different.
I can't say I've ever really been in love with any interior that I've driven in. If it's not the design it's the material or fit'n'finish. I sat in a Audi R8 at a show and thought that was pretty nice overall but nothing else comes to mind. The 4th Gen interior was good IMO but the materials didn't wow me. I'm just hoping the seats are very supportive but comfortable.

Agreed. I have high hopes for the new Camaro's seats. That's one area in particular, where the 4gens were lacking... and just about all GM's newer seats are very nice. My GTO had great seats... the HHR LT I rented, same thing... and my 05 Grand Prix GXP, also great seats. GM has made massive strides in seat design.
