Alpine HU won't work in 02 WS.6! Help!

Ok, my friend has an 02 WS.6 w/ the factory Monsoon CD. He hasn't replaced a single thing yet (Well....stereo-wise ^_^). Well, he got an Alpine CDA-D855/D852 and wanted me to help him install it. Sure, I thought, just get a little wiring harness from wal-mart and it should hook right up. Too make sure, I took my extra Pioneer HU w/ the wal-mart harness already hooked up and I hooked it up. Everything worked fine (Excpet the turn on for the electric antenna, the pioneer didn't have a hook up for it). So we figure that the harness would work. We go get the harness and hook up his Alpine. Once we put everything together we noticed two wires still seprate; 1.)The remote aftermarket amp turn on. and 2.)'Audio Interrupt In' Lead We didn't think much of it though. We plugged in everything (antenna too) and the stereo turned on without a hitch. We tried to turn the volume up, but no sound comes out of the speakers! You can see the little tabs rising and falling on the faceplate that shows that sound is registering through the HU, but none comes out the speakers! Too double check, we plugged back in the Pioneer and it worked fine for the second time. What could it be? We're stumped!

sounds like the wiring harness isnt right-

now i dont know much about the Monsoon systems, but isnt there a factory amp. The wiring might be a problem then. Take it to a pro audio place and let them fix it. Less stress.

Go to a stereo shop and get the proper harness. If it didn't have remote amp turn on, it may not be activating your factory amps to turn on. Unless you ahve a special harness, which you may(My Bose system has to have a $50 adaptor), it should be 15 to 20 bucks. Make sure you tell the shop it has the monsoon system.

Where can I find a remote turn on for the amplifier?
The Monsoon amp doesnt have a remote turn on. It senses current from the speaker inputs to turn the amp on. You can tap an iginition wire somewhere or off of the power antenna. Firebirds are easy enough because the radios already have a remote turn on. Just tap into the pink wire. Camaro radios also have a remote turn on but there is not a wire coming out of the radio for it. Get a connector to fit the radio harness (available from most auto parts stores) and plug your wire into pin #8. This is your remote turn on.

Wrong. Sorry, but wrong. The standard GM metra wiring harness that fits GM pickups/cars/suburbans with work with a factory monsoon system if you are just adding a head unit.

It sounds like the wiring adapter is not wired correctly on the new deck as it is on the older Pioneer deck you tested with. Sounds like you may need to seek some professional help with this one.
