Anybody have a good picture/s of the whole trans mount / torque arm mount area before I dive into this and have the car apart all day? I have new poly bushings ready to go!!!

I'm disabled and don't want to spend 3 days doing this. Paying $20 for anybody that will jack their car up and snap a few pics with a trouble light. Email me 350@350350.com I now have a '97 Camaro SS with the 6-speed.

I searched and searched and can find everything but a picture. Learned a lot though, and even now remember doing this on an '84 Camaro once a hundred years ago, but way before I was disabled. I have limited mobility and stamina now...

I envy you... do you have a hoist and a pressure washer? I am ashamed that I have a nice SS and it's my daily driver, right now my ONLY driver, and I've let it go. The dude I bought it from would kick my *** if he saw how bad it needs detailed. It's still a sweet car under all the dirt, McDonald's bags, kids' car seats and french fries. The outside has a couple new scratches I can't explain, but I was in the hospital forever and it sat in my X-Wife's driveway forever, gathering pollen and tree crap, sitting next to a busy driveway where daycare kids come and go all day, so I should probably count myself lucky that it's not completely trashed. Luckily she can't drive the 6 speed because of an old knee injury or else it'd be low on oil, tires, and self respect.

I finally got it mildly cleaned up, took it to the car wash, although after working under the hood only long enough to steal the battery for the truck, I saw how filthy under the hood has gotten. I used to wash under the hood of EVERY car just to keep it clean for working on, let alone now that I have a sweet car and should be keeping it clean under the hood. It does leak oil out the back intake seal, so keeping the underside clean will be a job. Once I fix that I should be able to keep it a lot cleaner. It even has a few drops on the rear bumper, so it's time to get dirty once I get a little more strength back.

Anyway, thanks for the pictures!!! I DID manage to get it up on stands today although that's as far as I got. The torque arm bushing seems OK but I already have the poly for it but the trans mount is actually what's trashed. Was kinda glad to see that.

I know the torque arm can tear the hell out of things if it gets loose, and I would even swear mine looked bent. How hard is it to bend the damned thing? And does it have any natural curve to it? I have to get in there with a good straight edge.

i have lifts at my business. so, when i'm bored, i go over it with a spray bottle with purple power in it and shop towels. takes me about 1-1.5 hours from front to rear. the underneath of my car is cleaner than the outside and inside of it.

yes, the torque arm mount bracket can get bent from all of the lifting the arm does.
