Buying O.E. Black Z06 Motorsport 17x9.5 wheels

Im currently on the stock 16" wheels, no body kit, nothing has been lowered.

What size tires should I get if I'm getting 17" wheels?

245/45/17 ??

go with a 275. it will fill out the wheel perfect.

275/40/17 is the one most commonly run

45's... i say 45's... with those on 17's, it's just a little bigger then the stock 55 series/16 inch rim.

go to the appearance forum and look up my thread that i started.... i have black z06 motorsports on my 97 z and it's not lowered or has a body kit and has 45 series tires on it.

cant find your thread via search

I think I'm going to get 275/40/17s just because they are a more normal tire size.

Exactly what I would run. One of the benefits of stepping up to the larger rim is the ability to use a wider tire, take advantage of it.

ok a 245/50/16 is 25.66 inch tall. a 275/40/17 is the same over all height as the 245/50/16 so it will not miss with your speedo, go with the 275/40/17 but if you are looking for more side wall do a 285/40/17 which is 26 inches tall.

I didn't even realize there was a 4 in the 245 in the first post...

yeah def. no 245.... god no.. it would look horrible, you would get lots of curb rash...
275 atleast... on all fours.... with a 45 series.... 40 is just too low, unless you plan on lowering it ALOT.

You could step it up and put 285's on the rims, but if you do that you would either a) run 285's in the back and 275's in the front, and lose the ability to rotate your tires or b) you would run 285's all the way around... but that's oging to be a REALLY responsive front end...

I went 275/45/17 all the way around and I'm happy

i was thinking you had 245/45/17's on your car, from the pics the tires look skinny.

Your gonna want a little taller tire in the back if its stock height cause with the 275/45 doesnt fill in the rear wheelwell very good in my opinion.
