Cleanlite option
Hi I'm purchasing a 2009 Camaro Black/Black when they come out mainly because I think it's the cleanest, most sinister look. Not that anyone cares so heres my question for you guys to comment about . I have a suggestion/idea... for the Camaro as far as exterior lighting is involved. What about a Crystal clear exterior lights option. By this Im refering to every exterior light lense being crystal clear. The side marker, third brake light included. My Mustang doesn't have clears all around but you get a basic idea. Here's my Mustang GT for example

Nice looking GT. We sold ours a while ago. (Nice fog lamps. )
I'm not sure, but I believe clear lenses are not legal in some states.

I thought clear lenses were legal as long as the bulbs were amber.
I know someone in my area had a black Xtreme w/clear lenses and blue bulbs. Looked sharp, but I doubt it was legal.
Personally I think all clear lenses is a little bland looking. I had carbon fiber-look altezza's in my '02 Camaro and they looked nice.

I'm partial to smoked headlights and corners myself, I have them on my stang, but it is a good idea. I have a feeling that's going to be something left up to the aftermarket because with all the talk of keeping costs down these would seem like something obvious to leave alone which is understandable. I think as long as the bulbs are amber it's ok and I know the headlights are legal because they have SAE DOT stamping on them.

Clean-looking? Yes.
Legal? No.
At least not in Texas or Florida.
Taillights must produce red light when lit and reflect red light when off. The latter isn't possible with all clear lenses.
Unless I completely missed a really cool development in the technology of reflective materials...

Not that they look bad, but I think that would be something left best for the aftermarket.

clear lights look good in the front of my Xtreme, but the all clear corners are not legal if someone wanted to push it, since the relectors have to be amber in front(red in back), but most cops don't know/care about lights, as long as the all work, amber in front, red in back

I know it's not as popular an option as it was a few years ago, but I always prefered just the opposite of the clear lights.
I had blackouts on my 2000 Xtreme

All I have to say is that if I wanted a Nissan I'd buy a Nissan. Leave the lenses red.
