Bad news in the Beebe family
I just got a call from my dad. He just got home from the hospital where my grandpa was diagnosed with a cancer tumor on his pancreas.
The doctor said the tumor was too large to operate on, but didn't have an idea of how much time he has left. They will know more tomorrow when the surgeon has a chance to look at him.

Wow, Chad, I'm sorry to hear that... But surely there's something they can do? Remove part of it, give him chemo, radiation treatment, a combo of the above...
Just to be on the safe side, we'll pray for him.

I know how you feel Chad. I go in the hospital tomorrow to have a liver biopsy. Then they will tell me if I can start the cancer treatments or have to have a transplant. The next thing is if I have to have a liver transplant will they be able to find one in time.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather.

Chad, sorry to hear about the news. I may be way off on the above but just pointing out what I have seen first hand. What ever road is chosen I hope for the best.
Thanks for the kind words everyone.
You are pretty close, my grandpa is 79 years old and last summer he came down with pneumonia and was looking really frail. We were all worried about him then, but he pulled through it. For his age, he is in good shape. Him and my grandmother would golf 2-3 times a week and walk the 9 hole course.
The only way they found out about the tumor is because he was having tremendous pain and thought it was a kidney stone so he went to the hospital.
I will keep you all posted when I find out more

True, but at the same time this is a grandfather. He may be too "fragile" due to age to go through these things. Plus, if he isn't feeling pain or suffering he may want to stay in this condition. My 21 yr old best friend, who some of you knew, died March 9th of this year from cancer after a 3 yr fight. That 3 yrs was tough for him but he would never had been able to live the rest of his life (if he would've made it) if he hadn't tried. Sometimes the risks out weigh the potential outcome.
