help diagnose my camaro..

hello everyone!! i have a 97 z28 camaro and i just did a tranny/motor swap (same just lower miles), anyways my service engine sign (SES) came on after the swap, i had it read and it said something about a MAF malfunction, i got the code cleared and the SES sign went away, but it was running just a little rough so i disconnected the MAF and the SES came on again, i scanned it and it said the same MAF malfunction code plus another code that (i really dont remember what it said) but it had to do with the emmission system malfunction.. anyways the car runs just a little rough, what could it be??

also..

when i rev the engine to about 4krpm and let go the exhaust pops, and at idle there is a LITTLE knock from the same side (pass side) is that the signs of an exhaust leak?? it has stock headers and exhaust..
thanks in advance!

does it still run rough with the maf unplugged?

unplugging it puts it into limp home mode...and if it idles smoother and revs a bit smoother (not sure how high you can go) it tells you that one of the sensors is malfunctioning...most likely the maf.

emmissions stuff should cause you to run rough

A dirty MAF sensor can definitely lead to those problems, hopefully that was the cure.
