Whats the deal with the seats?
Don't want to keep this in the podcast forum.
In the podcast Chris and Jason mentioned something about Recaro being rumored to get the bid on the making the seats. As far as I know and what was said in that podcast they made the seats for the cobalt ss and the GTO. Does anyone else have any information on this, or know of any rumors revolving around this?
And if you have not heard the podcast, then you may follow the ling in my sig to listen!

Recaro did make the seats for cobalts with the G35 package. Which was the seats and LSD for the supercharged engines. Though it is believed that the Recaro seats will not be adviable for the cobalt SS in 08 due to problems with Recaro meeting the Demains for the seats. (you know, that could also be because they are making them for other cars...::wink wink nodge nodge::
These are the ones in the cobies.

I would be ok with Recaro making the seats.
BUT please leave off the RECARO embroidery!!!

Considering Recarro's reputation in the car industry seeing thier logo brings quaility, but they should offer a sport seat option for guys who want a more racier look. Like the seats they offered for the Evo and Cobra-R series. But I doubt that will happen. Anything is good as long as you don't open the doors and see a low budet version of the vette interior... It's time for the Camaro to move out the house, and step away from the Corvette Theme. I think F-bodies are all grown up now.

It would definitely be nice to see them make the seats. Not only do they have a very high quality appearance, but those seats are extremely comfortable.

I recall reading elsewhere that an insider confirmed Recaros for at least some versions of Camaro. Johnson Controls is doing the interiors (Johnson is the USA supplier of Recaros).

Yes the seats are going to be recaro, well sort of. As I said somewhere before, Johnson Controls are doing the seats for the Camaro, Johnson Controls have rights to build recaro for N/A, soooooo, they will be recaro/johnson controls seats without the recaro embroidery. Therefore they will look like recaro in every way only they are not, but they are. Clear as mud right!

I've owned four cars with Recaros from the factory, and all I can say is that it's about time GM got their head pulled out of their @ss and put some decent seats in a car. I've owned/own a lot of GM's, and every single one of them has had crappy seats...with the exception of my Vette, but they weren't exactly what I would call outstanding.
Recaro makes the best seats in the business, without question.
FWIW, the B6/7 Audi S4 has 'Recaro' emblazoned on the seat...so that's pretty good company to keep....it's not like people would associate that with some APC seats in a ricer.
