Summit universal x pipe

Well I'm about to get my motor back in my car. I am running pacesetter long tubes on it and I was wondering how much work there is putting together an x pipe set up on it with the mufflers dumped before the axel. Like will I have to bend anything or customize anything?

with a little tweaking it should bolt up pretty easily.

i used one for my duals setup...and LS1s are trickier than LT1s

Sounds like that might be the way I want to go then. But I'm not exactly sure on 2 1/2'' or 3''. I have a 355 almost 11:1 compression lt1. cc306 cam in it. I'm thinking 3'' but not totaly sure.

you won't lose much, if any by going with the 2.5" setup.

unless you plan to make more than 450rwhp...it should be sufficient.

Brent, I am going to run 2.5" on my 383 once its done....it makes it so you can still lower your car. If you use 3", you ruin all chances of ever lowering your car, thus sticking you with the 4x4 look lol.
Jeff is helping me do all my stuff, and he said the summit x-pipe kit will work, but will require quite a bit of extra fabrication. I am using the flow-master merge kit for $161 from summit, he said when he did it on his 94 formula, he didnt have to cut anything, bend anything, or anything else like the summit kit that one of our other friends used did. He mentioned that the flowmaster is 70 more, but you will be happier with the sound, quality, and how much easier it is.

and if you decide the 2.5" isnt cutting it (like mine wont), install cutouts like I am doing

My Summit 2.5 x-pipe kit with dynomax 12" mufflers and turn downs from Jegs. Didn't cut a thing for this kit to mate up to my JetHots. Welded in some O2 bungs for a wideband and extra think collector flanges. Love it.

Man that makes me want to do mine now. But i'm gonna do 3" and cut my y-pipe and mate theex-pipe kit to it. Mainly because i have Pacesetter and i have to worry about that support right after the drivers side header. Gonna make it with slip fit so if i need to re-install my catback it will be easy.
