It's ok for a small motor. The TB is only 700CFM and it has 4x65lb injectors. So, it won't support a lot of HP. You can use your existing manifold and don't need fuel rails and the associated plumbing, so it certainly is an easy route to EFI. It is a couple of generations behind systems that have been more recently designed, but that is not to say it doesn't work when used in a suitable application. At ~$1,500 it's quite a bit more expensive than a carb, but not even half the price of a state of the art EFI system.
If you want EFI and the 700CFM isn't an issue, it is servicable (I have tuned a couple of them). I'd look for a used one if it were something I were interested in.

I don't see it as being better than the stock computer. Will it run eight injectors?

yeah it will run 8 injectors but you have to add a crank trigger...you only use the opti to throw spark..
i think i have descided somewhat to use the stock computer for now......i'm still blind as far as lt1 edit or tuner cat and an obd1 conversion, shame you can't get it over 7k tho

I've done a Holley 950 system on a SBC street rod and it worked out real well. That being said, if you're staying under 7000 rpm, save your money and keep the stock PCM. I run my 355 on the oem computer, it pulls clean to 7000 with no problems. Just need to tune WOT and tweek the timing tables.
