Didn't see this posted so I thought I would. I am sure they probably are working on one, GM is always working on something or another. Any thoughts or info?

well, they are apparently "behind" in the tranny department now that some have 7 speeds, why not do an 8 I guess?

 

If the 8spds end up in Caddys and Buicks, and maybe some Saturns, then it allows all of the other cars from Chevy, GMC, and Pontiac to use the 6spds. It also separates Caddy and Buick farther apart from the other brands and makes them seem more luxurious now that their parts are not used on cheaper models.

Just a thought.

 

I don't think the 8 speeds are going to replace the new and barely in production 6 speeds. I am thinking more for something like the Allison HD tranny.
