Quick thought on possible RS package
Maybe this has been covered, but I can't remember reading it anywhere recently....but there may be an issue for some folks wanting the RS package w/hideaway lamps. While it looks good in drawings and on the older cars, I can't think of one car IN PRODUCTION TODAY that has them or flip up lamps. Corvette was the last one I can think of that still had them in 2004. Anyway, with the added mechanicals and such it may be more of a warranty concern than anything. Thoughts?

Re: Quick thought on possible RS package
I thought there was some new DOT regulation against hidden lights? It’s unsafe when they break because idiots drive around with one or no headlights. But I could be wrong about that.
I'd love to see them though, maybe with the "flash to pass" grill style from the '69 RS.

Re: Quick thought on possible RS package
I think that something like that would not be very cost effective due to crash testing, etc. I seriously wouldn't count on factory hidden headlights. Aftermarket ones would be cool, though!

The concept with the headlights off looks like the old RS 68 front. I like the open headlight recessed look over the flush RS look. The yellow cars do not appear to have the same blacked out look as the concept. I think RS should be an appearance package maybe that could be headlights that black out like the concept when off...
BTW, RS did not just mean hide away headlights. It meant that the backup lights were removed from the tail lights and placed by themselves, much lower in sheetmetal...

Re: Quick thought on possible RS package
I think flip up head lights are ugly so my opinion is biased, but I do have a question has a camaro ever had flip up head lights? and if so please link me a photo. Me and a buddy got into an argument that camaros had flip ups, I believe they never did, and im almsot positive. Thanks. Just relized, you guys were talking about hidden lights behind the grille, oops.

Re: Quick thought on possible RS package
The Camaro never had flip-up headlights, just the hide-aways that were on the 1st gen. It was the Firebird that had flip-up headlights, as you'll see on the 3rd and 4th gen birds.

No and that looks ripped off from a drawing KrisH did.
It may have been an animation showing how the hideaway lamps would work when you wanted full light.
I looked but found nothing.....I swear I'm not making this up

If I can get hide-a-ways on a 5th gen... oh man... that'd be great.

Re: Quick thought on possible RS package
This is why I brought this up. I am totally enamored with the KrisH drawing, especially the Z06 wheels and slight changes in the front fascia and hood. I think a lot of people like this as well as an option, but the real question is this a production feasibility or not. Also, it would be nice to see the scoop on the hood and not on the fascia for two reasons: 1 some people may not like it and 2. it creates more issue with anyone looking at aftermarket hoods. Scott, maybe you can let us in on whether either of these (hideaway lights or scoop on hood)were considered when the concept was being drawn up?

Re: Quick thought on possible RS package
I will venture a guess that the RS package has some powerful proponents. I would not be at all surprised to see hide-away headlights as part of it.
