Joining the sudden Rebel craze

Joining the sudden Rebel craze
I've found a set of American Racing Rebels for sale locally and it's just too good a deal to pass up. It's a set of perfect condition 17x9 wheels with BF goodrich G-force KDW 275/40-zr17 tires. 3000 miles on the set up for 900 dollars. The blue car's got a new pair of shoes! And not a moment too soon, my tires are dry rotting and getting low on tread.
I won't be getting them until this weekend, I'll be in florida til then. I'll get pictures as soon as I get back and get them on the car.

I'm not too worried about that, the ones I have on now stick out. I'm going to see if he'll let me mount em and see what they look like on the car. Pictures are good for some things, but they can't do it all.
It does seem like you started the trend though, after you got yours I saw thread after thread asking for pictures of Camaros with Rebels on them.

Re: Joining the sudden Rebel craze
I noticed that no one who posts pictures of the Rebels will post a clear picture of how the front wheels stick out. Seems like the front wheels get turned to the side to cover up the problem in the photo.
It would be nice if someone could take an ACCURATE picture, looking straight down the side of the car, with the wheels positioned straight ahead. That would allow people to decide it they can live with the postion of the wheels with that small offset.
I know my Weld skinnies are way out near the edge of the fender, partly because of the required spacer, and I hate the way they look.

I'm not going to hide anything. Keep in mind, My front end IS shifted over about 3/4 of an inch to the pass side. THe driver's side will appear to stick out more.

Re: Joining the sudden Rebel craze
I don't have the Rebels, but I do have AR wheels w/the same backspacing.
Mine are 17x9 instead of 18 though.
So here is how mine looks from the front w/a 1.5" drop. The pics are large so you can easily see how they sit. This one looks worse because the wheel is turned to the left a bit. Sorry, wasn't going to crank my car just to straighten it out.
From the top. The front is on the left and the wheel is turned a little to the left (down in the pic)
Shot taken against the door.
Just a gratuitous shot of how they look on the car

Re: Joining the sudden Rebel craze
I got my wheels and put them on the car today, I would have pictures right now but I didn't put them on until the late afternoon on account of it being so hot. I love the way they look on my car, and I drove around for a little bit today and didn't have any problems with them rubbing. (I'm at "stock" ride height though, with 13 years of spring settlement.)
I'll have pictures up tomorrow, I'm a camera ***** when I get something new done to the car, or even just clean it up. Don't worry, you'll see them soon.

Re: Joining the sudden Rebel craze
Here's the pictures, the first ones are just to give an idea of how they look on the car, the second pictures show how far they stick out (as requested)
Here's the line up pictures:
Ok, there they are. I've put a couple more miles on the unforgiving roads of Ladson SC and I still haven't had the tires scrape yet. These are 275/40/17 tires, I'm not sure the offset of the wheels, but the guy that sold them to me said they're 17x9's. I'll believe it because they're about the same size as the 17x9.5's on my Z-28. I don't have this car lowered, it's stock suspension. (although all of it besides the front struts are original) Now people can see what Rebels look like on earlier Camaros.

Not a fan at all of GFX on Camaros usually, but IMO, that actually looks decent. I personally wouldnt do it, but ive seen MUCH worse kits and color schemes. And on topic, the wheels look awesome. Would consider them if I hadnt just bought some new ZO6's.
