pistons for 5.7" or 6" rod better for 383 DD build?

The 6" rod would be the obvious choice if I didn't have questions about the pistons. I'm probably going with SRP pistons at .003 to .0035" clearance and want this thing to run 100K plus with good oil control and compression. Since the wrist pin protrudes up into the oil scraper ring pack on the pistons for the 6" rods I'm wondering if any durability or oil control issues are likely to arise with many miles on the engine. Don't expect anyone to have run both pistons for mucho miles thereby having a concrete answer. Any input into potential longterm durability and oil control issues with the 6" pistons versus the 5.7" pistons is appreciated.
Regards, Michael.

The oil ring is not intersected by the pin bore on a 6" rod piston.

There is NOT a nickles worth of difference in a 5.7 Vs a 6.0 rod. The cranks are different as the 5.7 rod has to have a smaller weight circle.

The piston pin does go into the oil ring with a 6" rod & requires a spacer ring in the oil groove. I have a set of SRP's in front of me.

That's probably one of the reasons I don't use SRP's. The wiseco and mahle's I use do not go into the oil ring.

Yeah, but they also have a tighter ring pack. I like the Mahle's for many reasons over the SRP/JE stuff, not to mention some of the parts I have been getting from them lately are not as good as they used to be.
