2008 challenger>camaro concept????
2008 challenger>camaro concept????
I've been looking at both lately. The camaro was pretty sweet at first, but the new challenger is really growing on me! I don't know, I think I might like the challenger better. I want to get one or the other when they come out, definately my next new car.
Am i nuts?? Should I stick with the bowtie or go mopar
I have to checkem both out one day in person, they are both sweet cars though!
440hp stock on the challenger, wow, I'd just throw in an exhaust and cold air, call it a day!

Challenger in relation to Camaro concepts. Both cars look MUCH better in person but its all in what you want. Check them out in person for yourself and see what you like. As far as the drive trains its too early to tell which has more HP. Then again dimensions for both cars can change as well

They're both nice and better looking than the new Mustangs, in my opinion. Older people seem to like the Challenger better, younger people the Camaro. I'll be buying the Camaro; one because I'm a GM fan and two because the Challenger is going to be 4100 pounds.
Re: 2008 challenger>camaro concept????
Camaro all the way, because it looks sweeter then hell! The Challenger has that relaxed look, and the Camaro is in your face. As my slogan said, " Camaro, redefines the word BADA**."

The Challenger should be considered in the same catagory as the Monte Carlo instead of the Camaro, though I know I'm on the losing end of that debate.
The next Camaro will be on a shortened version of the Zeta, while GTO and the Monte Carlo/Chevelle/'whatever-Chevy-calls-it' will be a larger coupe. The Challenger will be on a larger chassis than the Mustang & Camaro as well, and will have a bit more room than the 2 pony cars.
I know being a RWD V8 coupe, and the fact that probally a majority of the people here are too young to remember or weren't alive when 2 doors and RWD existed on more than one size of car, and the group that sees everything V8 and 2 doors through Camaro-like eyes will see the Challenger as a Camaro competitor. After all, it seems every car rag is doing it.
Speaking of car rags, and Challenger, there is a side bar in the August 2006 Motor Trend (I think) where one of Challenger's designers talks about what differences are going vto need to be made for the production version. What's facinating about it is not that he's talking about changes need to be done for the production version, but that this article was probally written back in April... the Challenger's production schedule was just made public last Saturday. I know one person refuses to believe it, and will continue to call BS, but before the end of next year, you'll see them on the streets.
FWIW: the changes he mentioned (as I remember) is a higher front bumper, less tuck under on the body work, & a couple of other changes. The roofline & height isn't going to change, and the full width tail light (and high trunk liftover height) is going to make it to production.
