00 T/A vs. 04 GTO vs. 96 T/A

THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG ONE

So me, danny, and a few of my other buddies were hangin out tonight and me and danny decide to go look for some hot chicks at the local wal-mart supercenter (pathetic, i know )

So we cruise on up there, walk around, get a few things we need, no eye-appealing women, so we purchase our goods and walk out of the store. As we're walking out we notice a stock looking (not so stock sounding) red LT1 trans am. We casually walk back to my car, hop in, and stroll on over to the guy. I asked him what he had done to it. SLP LTs, ORY, pulleys, CAI, Hypertech, 80 series flowmaster, MAF sensor, bigger throttle body, 4.11 gears in a stock 10 bolt, and a few other things. He was basically running a pretty good bolt-on LT1 with gears. Oh yah, and it was a 6 speed like mine. He asked me about mine and I told him just exhaust and asked if he'd like to run it. He told me hell yeah and to meet him at the local wawa in 20 minutes.

So me and danny oblige and cruise around the rest of central park to waste time. As soon as we pull out, we see a gorgeous looking GTO that sounded pretty decent (just a flowmaster turns out) come on by us, the passenger just staring us down. So I accelerate to catch up and roll the window down. We exchange some friendly words and they decided they wanted to try their luck with a new model T/A. They didn't know the area that well, and I told them with it being 12:30 at night, I knew the perfect place to run that no cops would be and it would be safe with absolutely no traffic. They oblige and follow behind us to our 2.7 mile stretch of road

We get caught at a red light on the way there with absolutely no traffic and no headlights around whatsoever so we say WTF let's do it from a dead stop. We both spun bad that when I hit 2nd, I was in front but I wouldn't even call it good enough to be a race so it didn't count and we both let out. We get turned around and go from a 1st gear, 20mph roll, and 3 honks. Going into 2nd, his front nose was at my rear tire, and then it comes... that frustrating frikkin split hesitation into 2nd, but she's still pulling well for me as I go into 3rd. By 3rd gear I had maybe 1/2 car between us. We ran it all the way up to 125, and I think I probly got him by 2 cars, maybe even 3. They told us to pull over on a side road to chat. The owner was rather dissapointed and couldn't believe the T/A pulled him that well with just exhaust I informed him I had to run off to catch another run with another T/A and they were eager to watch, so they followed us back to wawa.

We all parked our cars, got out and chatted with each other once we arrived, like the f-body family does I noticed my car smoking like a freight train when I was running out 3rd and 4th gear, knowing it was my f(ckin power steering fluid just burning off onto my alternator. Knowing if I got beat as bad I did the GTO and seen the winning car smoking its ***** off, I'da thought they were on the jug, so I popped my hood to check my power steering fluid level and they immediately surrounded just to look. For some reason they just couldn't grasp why they got beat by an exhaust LS1 6 speed trans am I think they needed a better driver personally, the GTO was a 6 speed as well, with just flowmasters. Anyways, onto the red LT1!

Now this was fun! He seemed a tad too arrogant like he almost KNEW he was going to win because he had all those mods and I just had exhaust. And to be honest, I was a big skeptical about who was going to win as well but just knew I had to be on the top of my game if I didn't want to see those LT1 tail-lights. We ran 4 times at the same spot out of town that me and that GTO ran at. All 4 times, it was the same thing 20-125. 1st gear it was a dead heat, 2nd I would start to pull, and going into 3rd is when his front bumper was at my rear and then I just put distance between us all the way to 125 with me a whole solid car, maybe car and a half between us. That LT1 ran DAMN GOOD tho! We followed back to the gas station and he gave me a ride in it. I had never ridden nor driven a 6 speed LT1 before, yet I heard all kinds of stories about the 3rd gear comparison of the LT1/LS1s. And man oh man, are you guys right about how that LT1 just runs out of breath once it goes into 3rd.

The two guys in the GTO just watched the first race and headed off. The guy driving the LT1 T/A was a cool-@ss dude, name was Muhammad and we exchanged numbers and are planning on meeting up this weekend for hopefully the final heat between me and the civic. Anyways, just wanted to share my racing stories with you fellas as it was a VERY fun and exciting night. And before you guys start flaming me about street racing this was on a stretch of road in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no traffic for miles, so all the precautions were taken. Will keep you posted about what happens to the civic. God I love me some fbodys :-D

Try picking up girls at Target. Better looking as a whole in my opinion.

Great story. I figured youd pull that 04 just fine and that the 96 TA would be close. The LT1 needed a few more bolt on's to compete with you, next time you talk to him tell him to get a CSR E-WP, 1.6RR's, and a ASP 23% crank pulley. That should help him stick with you or barely edge you out. Well maybe in that case dont tell him.

I see you're in Harrisonburg.....you go to JMU or something?? If so, then I can understand the whole going to the wal mart to pick up chicks. For those of you who arent familiar with the university, its been ranked by playboy numerous times for having some of the hottest girls in the Country. And Harrisonburg isnt exactly a big town.....so the Wal Mart is a big deal so to speak! hahaha, Sorry for the rambling.
