Current GM platform list.....

Gamma - subcompact FWD
Delta - compact FWD
Epsilon - mid-size FWD
Kappa - compact RWD
W - midsize cars FWD
Sigma - midsize RWD
G/K - fullsize cars FWD
V - full-size RWD
Theta - crossover SUV AWD
U - minivan FWD
Lambda - minivan FWD/AWD
Y - sports cars RWD
GMT - trucks RWD

13 sdifferent platforms. 9 are for cars, 4 are RWD. Sounds like there should be more RWD cars from GM, but there just are not. Weird. But then again the Kappa is for the Solstice, and the Y is for the Vette/XLR.

Don't forget "TE"

TE will underpin a forthcoming smaller Caddy SUV/CUV and the Saab something or other...

Then again with the changing tides at GM, it's possible the TE program might be on hold or canned. I haven't heard anything about it lately.

You missed the T-body cars. They are GME and GM Brazil compacts. Also the replacement for the T-cars and Delta cars will be consolidated. W- is dead soon enough to be replaced with LWB Epsilons. The H-body DTS and Lucerne aren't on there. The U vans willbe replaced with the Lambda vans by 2008.

DTS and Lucerne are G body.

You know better than I do that some W's may be replaced with global RWD and some may be LWB Epsilon II as you are better at sorting some of this stuff out better than anyone else I know of.

Re: Current GM platform list.....

For Trucks there are currently 4 platforms in use

GMT355 = Colorado/H3
GMT360 = TrailBlazer/Envoy/SSR
GMT800 = H2/old trucks
GMT900 = Tahoe/Esclades/FullsizeTrucks

also is Lambda getting minivans? I thought they would just be crossovers.

Wow I am blushing. Thanks. I know there are many others here that figure stuff out quicker or flat out know more than I, they just can't share all their information.

Actually I may get some info on the next Super Duty trucks in the not to distant future, the plant isn't far from here and I know workers over there. I know the update is NOT very far off and will be quite extensive, a few trucks with cammo do run down the line on occasion.

Still have the remains of the Omega (Holden VZ line) for a few more months.
