Any 10 or 11 sec. 3rd gens, in here PLZ
If there's any third gen owners out there running 10's or 11's, please let me know the specifics of your setup, your 1/4 time, actual HP(no guesses plz), and how streetable it is. I gotta get something goin' here soon and need to figure out what direction I'm goin' in. Thanx, Chris.

Re: Any 10 or 11 sec. 3rd gens, in here PLZ
I haven't actually ran an 11 but I haven't put slicks on it either. With the mph I have through the 1/4, there is no doubt it's an 11 second car.
Specifics are in the sig. Stock LT1 with bolt ons and boost. Before the blower, on nitrous it made 373hp/464tq on a 100 shot. I ran 12.2s@120 with it then.
Perfectly streetable with nitrous or boost. 26 mpg on the highway with some city driving.

if you want to run 11's youre looking at either a big block, a very stout 400 series small block, or a 350/383 with a supercharger/turbocharger/nitrous.

if you want to run 11's.... a 350/383 with a supercharger/turbocharger/nitrous.
You forgot about a supercharged 305. My best: 12.004 @ 117.62 with 14-psig boost. No, it's not in the 11's but ..... (excuse coming) that's because I ran my best pass with 3.73's and it's too tall. Between two - three seconds before the traps, I'm redlining (6200) in "D". At that point, I ease up on the throttle and manually shift into OD. This was back in 2000. I now have a different setup but with only 300 miles on the engine (still a 305), I should break it in somewhat before hitting the track.
p.s. I now have 3.23's.

Thanks for that 96. I don't know why people think you "have" to have forced induction to run 11s or whatever.

Re: Any 10 or 11 sec. 3rd gens, in here PLZ
Well, I have a 355 w/ 10:1 forged flat tops, a .544/.544 hyd roller cam, HSR, 58mm TB, 38# injectors, a 10# juice can, 4.10s, and a set of Hedman LTs sitting at the shop. Still gotta get a TQ converter and a tune for whatever I build. I was looking at a set of AFR heads pn X1040F, 195cc, 68cc chambers to top it off.
How can I figure out about what I got now? I'm guessing mid 12's ??? I don't want to be disapointed when I run it so I'm not expecting anything spectacular. Would I be more beneficial to drop the bottle, build a 400 or 383 and supercharge it? Bottom line is I want to be able to drive it to/from the track, take it to Cruisin OC, and play on the street. Thanx for all the input, Chris.

What wait this was the stock l98 block?! the rest makes sense, cam is a what 5500 peak hp rpm cam, super ram can definitly support that.
I dont know much about the twisted wedge heads, and as was said they were ported.
But fuuudge thats a hell of a fast time on a n/a 350. I know of lots of 383 motors with afr 195's, appropriate cam and a big carb intake, only running mid 12's. Id like to know more about the car you speak of.

LS1 with heads and a 23x cam, t56 trans, 12bolt with 410s, slicks....
should yield about 430rwhp
the top end pull of the LS1 should result in 11s no problem.

yes it was the original '92 2-bolt block they finally blew the motor up this past season but it had many miles street/strip and 10 seasons!just like anything else the combo has to work together the chip was burned after many passes data-logging

all these combos plus a few more ran very consistant back in the EARLY 90s and yes we were kinkin ass on mustangs in h-town.
my best friends car was questioned by a super chevy editor back in 93 cause the car never had the covers off and ran 13.37 on radials it had slp runners(worked)58mm,crane afpr,1-3/4 slps and full slp ex,slp green 2600 stall they could not believe that a tpi car could run like that.
my 88 z was a 5.7 hooker 1-5/8,2.5" y-pipe,no cats,pulleys,t-5,3.27 9-bolt,fully ported tpi unit(home job)perf.res.chip,slp muffler,13.1 on eagle 203 17x9.5 wrapped with 275/40/17s 60' was 1.76tried for ever to hit the 12s but NO,did not happen!plenty fast for a virgin longblock...just because i have 2 lt1 cars does not eliminate the fact"you cant rule out 3rd gen power!still got a 3rd gen on its way back from the barely living dead.........
