How do you like you 3.73?
How do you like you 3.73?
I just got mine in. I'm also installing a new tranny with them (Xtreme street/strip Megamax). How do you guys like you gears, and what is the first thing I will notice after I have them installed?

What was your stock ratio?
If you had a manual with 3.42's, well, the first thing you'll notice is that your clutch is gone.
It'll feel quicker off the line, and you'll have to be more careful to keep from lighting up the tires (although with that setup you probably have DR's). Time spent in each gear will be less. Shifts will happen at lower MPH than before.
More noticeable if you had 2.73's before than if you had 3.23's.

If its an M6 I would have gone 4.10s but with my auto I LOVE the 3.73s.
In my opinion its the perfect gear for an auto.
The first thing I noticed was that street tires were not going to cut it anymore.

Here's what you'll notice, higher rpm traveling down the road, intersate speed at 75/80 mph, you'll have somewhere around 2600 rpm, dumping fuel forsure, because I do, great acceleration off the line to about 90 /100 mph, but you lose your top end speed, probably only will be able to hit 145 mph or so and take a while to get that, probably won't get to hit 155/160 mph, like you can with 2.73's, but who is going that fast anyway. Bascily your going to have great acceleration off the line,(more tire spin), but you'll get worse gas milliage. Got to give up a little for performance though, Right
