What should GM change about the Concept?

Like we needed another thread.

Just thought I would make a poll so it would be easier to see what people want to change without picking through that gargantuan thread.

EDIT: For those of you who haven't seen the pics... http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=414450

Re: What should GM change about the Concept?

the rear is the only thing i'd change (and the mirrors, which i don't think will EVER make it to production)but if the hemmings article is correct, it's already been taken care of.

Re: What should GM change about the Concept?

1.) tail lights
2.) grill area
3.) roof line.
4.) rear vents if not functional
5.) maybe the whole rear end if new lights don't make it better.

Re: What should GM change about the Concept?

This thread is way too premature. We are talking about a pre-concept clay styling mock-up. The actual concept is going to be more refined.

Any detailed discussion before we see the actual concept next month is pointless. General comments, ok, but detailed changes?

Wait. I know I am.

Not a fan of the side vents, one thing that would really piss me off is if stupid ass mustang people trying to us "you copied us" as a come back

Hey, if "Overhauled" can build a car in 10 days I'm sure GM could re-do a couple of details in a month before the show.

Re: What should GM change about the Concept?

1) front facia (all)
2) rear facia (most, especially the tail lights)
3) side (The one design aspect that every generation Camaro posseses is the mid section peak through the side where on both sides of the peak, it is convex. I really love that about the Camaro and it is rather unique and gives the Camaro a lean/mean look but that is absent here.)
4) mirrors will change so that really isn't worth mentioning.
5) roofline (I wish it had more of a fastback look rather than the upright look of a 60's car)
6) Side vents (all it does is make it look more similar to the Mustang. Plus, it's not very clean or sleek looking and I bet they aren't functional.)
7) The entire dash and door skins.

Re: What should GM change about the Concept?

Another vote here for the rear end, it just seems cut off and abrupt to me, I dont know if just changing the taillights would be enough, however I love the rear overhang and basic overall rear proportions. As far as the rest goes, I love it, I have a '67 so of course I would though.

Yes but... what if we were to see the show concept today and we all absolutely loved it from top to bottom. Would you want GM make changes based on comments to a design that is no longer current and mess up what may be the perfect Camaro?

Of course not.

I think what is more important is what our initial reaction is.

They're looking responses like:

"WoW! I love it! I can't wait to see more"

"Its ok, but way too retro for me"

"I may buy one, at least its not a Mustang"

"I want more retro, so I'll probably wait for Challenger"

"It sucks, if I wanted retro, I'd buy a Mustang"

See, general comments like that. Detailed design comments on what should be tweaked are pointless if the show concept is more refined and has changed since this clay was done several months (years?) ago.

Re: What should GM change about the Concept?

Tail-lights!!! I'm not gonna quit saying it 'til they put on round tail-lights like those of the '70 - '73 Camaro. I don't mean they have to be exactly the same, but 4 ROUND tail-lights should be on the back of that car .
