The concept I THOUGHT we were all talking about...

Like I said, I was late to the party with these pics, having found out they were leaked well after the actual leak was made public. In another thread, the car I THOUGHT was the concept was this...

http://forums.streetfire.net/showthread.php?p=14816

Now, is it just me, or is that car completely awesome looking? A hint of heritage, sides that look like a Jaguar, some sweet tailights, and a nose that I could live with. That car would look at home in a row of Camaros, without question. Its funny, because I found those pics while I was still at work, and showed them to my Mazda6 driving co-worker, a self-proclaimed know-it-all when it comes to cars. Even he said that thing is flat gorgeous...alas, its a photochop. Thanks to Lew to waking me up quick on that one. I only figured it out when Charlie was discussing parts of the concept in a thread that weren't part of the above car

Don't ask why I thought those were official, but man that car is sweet. On the ride home last night, I pictured myself driving that exact car, and how sweet it would be to be revolutionary AND a bit retro. To be honest, whoever designed that car deserves a medal...I'm waiting for January in person, but so far I like that car more than the "official" photos

IMO, at least the front end is not all that far off. The one you're talking about has a lot more 4th gen in it, however. But, in terms of similarities I see plenty of common themes/lines.

Re: The concept I THOUGHT we were all talking about...

Maybe that's why I like it so much...its sleek, its slick, and it looks like an evolution of the 4th gen. To me, '67-'69 was a long, long time ago (11-13 years before I was born, to be exact). 2nd, 3rd and 4th gens were all sleek...why shouldn't a 5th gen be?

Without question, the official concept has some sleeknees to it...but this design in particular just spoke to me personally, I guess. The concept has me focusing more on the retro bits than the actual car itself. I like it, but I'm not in love yet, and will wait to see it...

But that above car I've loved from the second I clicked on the link

No mi gusta. The front end is decent (only decent) and the rear end is hideous.

Interesting, I think those tail lights (a bit smaller) would work perfect on the real (feels so good to see this ) concept

While the smoothly curvaceous Challenger looked like it was simply reissued, though in a somewhat more modern size because of its Chrysler LX underpinnings, the Camaro concept had a more contemporary and angular appearance that looked cutting edge, and we mean that both literally and figuratively.
