Yes, it's a little ridiculous now. They don't wanna be creative and new.

I'm buying them regardless whether I like retro or not. Just give me a musclecar.

They need even more. Maybe the GTO will be next, GNX, and whatever else they can do.

Are Retro Musclecars from all of the companies Cool or not?
I think it's a little too much. But I know it's exactly what some people want. Multiple choice is on. Who voted is on.

Re: Are Retro Musclecars from all of the companies Cool or not?
most of them look cool, and they always sell pretty well. what good is an awesome car if it doesn't sell very well and is discontinued after the first generation? some sacrifices have to be made to appeal to the general public. fact is, most people like retro-inspired designs. the people who don't are in a tiny minority.

Re: Are Retro Musclecars from all of the companies Cool or not?
In between. Like retro Air Jordans. They brought them out because they were loved so much in the first place. So I can dig that retro aspect as far as cars are concerned.
Yet, I don't want to see old, tired ideas. The new Thnderbird sucked ass, they bulky, ugly Charger is one heap of shyte, and the new Mustang is way way too much like the 60 version.

I think the new Camaro is pretty good in design, but I myself am not a huge retro nut. I would prefer to see companies keep moving forward.

I really didnt care for the whole retro idea in the first place, I wish they never would've started it. Either way having a camaro is better than no camaro

Definetly true. It's just lousy that Chevy had to do it after F*rd, then Dodge will too.

Damn right. Even if the new Camaro beats the living **** out of the Mustang in every way, we'll always have the "copycat" image.

Re: Are Retro Musclecars from all of the companies Cool or not?
That will be the first thing the M*stang guys will say. I'll bet all the reports of the car on TV and in magazines will be sure to mention that if the car stays retro. Same for the Challenger. Not cool.

Re: Are Retro Musclecars from all of the companies Cool or not?
That is also the reason I was hoping it wouldn't be retro. If you're not the first to do it, don't do it.

How can a retro design of one company of one of their past cars "copy" a retro design of another company? That's not really logically possible. You copy your own design, that's the point. And if you think Ford started the whole idea of designing cars with retro design cues, you're wrong. Corvettes have had retro design cues since the C2. Chrysler had the Prowler and PT Cruiser, and even Viper.

Re: Are Retro Musclecars from all of the companies Cool or not?
How is this new Camaro concept blatantly retro? The ONLY retro part of it is the front, and that's just generally retro inspired. The rear especially looks absolutely nothing like any other Camaro.

This was supposed to be above your post, deleted it instead of editing by mistake.
First, we're talking about musclecars here, not retro cars in general. Second, you're confusing cars with cues (which all cars from a line usually have somehow) with full-out blatant retro. The object is the F*rd did it first with their car. Sure the Camaro and M*stang are their own design/formula and it's cool to come out with competitors the way the Camaro originally did, but they didn't have to go the same exact way this time.

Re: Are Retro Musclecars from all of the companies Cool or not?
You can't see that the Camaro is full-out retro? The front is, the hood is, the fenders are, the roof, the back window, the sides, the quarters, the scoops near the rear wheel which I don't like much, the rear taillights are almost 68 RS inspired, the interior, the entire car is basically 1st Gen retro.

Re: Are Retro Musclecars from all of the companies Cool or not?
no i don't see how it's blatantly retro
i don't see a single line that is the same, or even close.
i mean, you may as well say it's a ripoff of an old challenger
