too slow???

alright well i have been having a few problems and was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas. I have a 94 pontiac trans am with a built trans w/2800 stall(that came with the car when i bought it 3 months ago). i took it to the track and ran a best of 14.5 ok well i figured that hey its stock not that bad. but since then i have a chip from pcm for less 100dry shot and a nitto and i cant beat 13.9 with a 1.9 60ft. i just dont know its pissing me off. it pulls good not breaking up i mean. i put colder plugs in it and everything for the nitrous. but that is about it if you have any ideas please let me know. thanks dan

Which track are you running at? With those mods. I would think you should be running a little better then that. Have you run a compression check on all the cylinders or hooked up a fuel pressure gauge. Is the car in good mechanical tune, other than the spark plugs, such as air cleaner, plug wires, 02 sensor, ect. Any misfires or exhaust leaks?

An exhaust leak before the 02s can definitely create problems, it creates a "false lean" condition, and can definitely slow you down by a large margin.

Re: too slow???

The 02's are put on hold after 75% throttle, so they dont have any input as to whats controlling the fuel. Honestly, you need to figure out the problems before you go throwing more mods at the car. Thats what I'm doing right now. Get it on a dyno and get a good graph with no smoothing, and an a/f graph as well. Do a compression test on the car, give it a tune up, check the fuel pressure, etc. etc.
