Ricer?Mustang Takedown--

Last weekend, Sat Night, and just cruizin with the top off, and behind me is this a-hole in a late 90's mustang with hella loud mufflers gouging the throttle and letting off. I thought to my self "what an ***-clown", then I figured, ahh, what the hell-so I cut over into the parking lot and he pulls up along side and wants to know if I want to run. I was like HELL YEA!, that's when I notice his wing

Then mr assclown wants to know if I've got any money-I said "you're joking right?" So I said we;d go for a $100, he declined, so I said how about we go for fun then? IT WAS ON!!

On the way out to the spot, he tried to do a flyby-But I was expecting this and was already in third-waiting--walked away like he was tied.

We get to the spot and get lined up-I told him he could have the move-he made it and I instantly hole-shotted by about 1 1/2 carlinks and then by third I saw him in all 3 mirrors. Letting off and tapping the brakes to signal the end of the run, he finally catches up and does a fly-by with the obligatory middle finger held high in the air-and stays on his POS aroung the corner in the WRONG LANE!

I think to myself, "why in the hell do I keep racing these dumb-*** people like this?"

Later on, I find MR Mushtang back up town and tell him that he should be glad that we weren't racing for money- and what a dumbass I thought he was

From now on-I think i'll just do it at the track-these ricerkids are frikkin idiots. All ricers dont necessarily drive hondas.

Re: Ricer?Mustang Takedown--

youll find losers tlike that all the time. just curious as to what the stock 03 04 05 vettes run in the 1/4 mile?? not sure what year it was today when i ws behind one who kept gunning it and slowing down in a one way road. i got up close to him so when he gunned it, i did the same. he didnt pull at all through 4th w/o my nitrous. with it, i should have pulled from him based on the aforementioned. i KNOW it isnt a legit race, but was curious as to what they run. thanks and good kill!

Hey Jim, I haven't had her at the track yet, only got a little over 5oo miles on, but the 6 speed cars are doing 12.5's to 12.8 at around 110-114, with the automatics real close (mabee 1/10 diff if that). This car feels about as strong box stock as my 98 Z did with all the mods I had done to it(vigilante 2800/100 shot nos/lid). I've got headers/lid/tuning planned for this car, just looking for low 12's to 12 flat and i'll be done. What helps these cars is their LOW WEIGHT-3100-ish and 400 hp.

Marc-in true ricer fashion-he just mean-mugged me and sped off-what can you say!

If you are running 13.1 n/a then you will be hanging with an 03 and 04, but an 05 will leave you w/o the nos. If you spray an 03 or 04 you should walk away if you're running 12.8.

I've only seen 1 05 run at the track and he ran 12.50's at 113-115 pretty consistantly. I never talked to him so I'm not sure what his 60's were. I agree that at 114 you probably should be quicker then 12.8.

Yea, that's about what we're running off the showroom floor, I like to race too-when it's safe-win or loose-I could care less.

The trick to the launch at the track is-to line her up in a patch that a pro car has laid down if you can-then you're off to 1.7-1.8 60 foot times on street tires-other wise they blow up!

The '06. LS7, 427CI @500HP.+ will be the ultimate Vette to have, can't wait to see one of those in action!! This machine will be the best Vette ever produced...a true keeper. I wonder what it will be capable of in the quarter mile, high 11's bone stock?? It will be really cool if looks like a '05 so no one will know whats going on under the hood...what a surprise that will be for an unsuspecting '05 encounter

Re: Ricer?Mustang Takedown--

The differences in a std C6 and the ZO6 are subtle for the unsusspecting, until the ZO6 jumps on it-then all hell breaks loose Little over 500 hp!

Got a small scoop on the front of the hood and flared fenders on the back quarters are about the only clues-they're supposed to be mid 11 sec. cars off the floor-but at $80,000- i'll just mod my std C6-and be happy

Feel free to use and pass on- young Jedi-

Hey, I just found out something I didn't know-On the C6 you must hold down the "button" for 5 seconds to turn off active handling and traction controll-I just pushed it until it said trac-control off-I could have shellaqued that POS mustang another car-lenght or 2!

My Bad-It wont happen again!!!
