Stock 99 SS new times

Went to the track today and got some better numbers than last time. Got 13 runs in!!

Best was 13.33 @106.5 on a 2.1 60.
Most were in the 13.3-13.5 range. @ 105.5-106.9.

Damn street tires!!!!! I will go back with a lid and catback and ****** a 12 sec pass soon.

Re: Stock 99 SS new times

The iroc has the basics.
Headers, ypipe, dynomax high flow cats, mac catback
Removed air baffles, air foil, self ported MAF as well as plenum and runners
adjustable fuel press reg set @ 45 psi
Spec stage3, t56 trans, alum driveshaft
nitto drags

The car was originally a 5spd tpi, so it came with the best cam available from the factory from the TPI breed...which helps too.

The iroc usually runs mid 13s over 100 in the cold, or 99 on the warmer days. Traps okay for a stock 305. I have over 140 passes on that old 305 and I have never lifted a valve cover in 7 years of abusing it!!Go GM v8s!!

Re: Stock 99 SS new times

13.5's with a 305 iroc and the mod's you have???..Wow

Not sayin i dont believe you, i just think its WILD that a almost stock iroc with just the 'basics' can run That fast..ionno, from what i've always seen those things are on the average in the low 15's STOCK. I've whooped on plenty Iroc *** that had much more mods than you in a FIVE-O with a couple bolt-ons! How that car could keep up with a M6 SS is beyond me. More power to ya tho..

Re: Stock 99 SS new times

Sorry, the 5 spd tpi cars were not 15sec cars unless a monkey is driving. Its just like the 6 spd ls1 guys who cant get better than a 13.7. I have all my runs on video, and Ill post some of them. In the heat the car usually runs 13.7 @99 though, so that was an above average run for me. Also, that was ona 1.90 60ft, so I guess I dont know whats not to believe? On street tires it would be a 13.9 car at best.

Re: Stock 99 SS new times

Not 15's but 13.9's? Well why were all the 5.0s beating they're asses in the 80's and early 90's until the 93?

Re: Stock 99 SS new times

Good numbers. I ran very similar numbers in my '00 SS when it was bone stock - a 13.4 @ 106.5.

Re: Stock 99 SS new times

Which SS models came with the lid factory? Does anybody know? I imagine that those in combination with the optional exhaust, and the LS6 intake would account for those few stock 13.1-13.0-12.9 cars. I really thought I should have been trapping at 107, but it was hot out. What are you other 6 speeders clicking through the traps at?

Re: Stock 99 SS new times

Impressive, most impressive. Takes LT1's serious bolt ons/Stall etc to get those numbers. LS1's are pulling them right out the box! My '02 Ran a 13.08 first night at NED. Loudmouth and SLP lid only two mods done, not even a k&N filter. 13.089@106.31mph. w/2.036 60ft times. Only had 2,560 miles on it. Some old guy dropped it off past february.
