clutch kit and flywheel for my new 383

Hey,

My 383 is in the process of being built right now, and Im trying to find a clutch kit and flywheel to go with it. The guy thats building my motor for me says its an absolute must for the flywheel to be internally balanced. The ck and flywheel i was looking at is the SPEC stage 3 w/steel flywheel. Anyone know if their flywheels are internally or externally balanced? Or anyone got a better suggestion for clutch and flywheel. The new motor should be putting out around 400 hp, and 450 ft/pd torque. Thanks.

Why a steel flywheel?? Aluminum flywheel is better than steel.. Actually steel flywheels are better for drag race.. Aluminum Flywheels are better for road racing.. I use Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel.

The spec flywheels are Neutral balanced to be exact stock replacments of the stock flywheel.

If it is neutral balanced, then it is not designed to be an exact replacement of a stock flywheel. The stock flywheel is not neutral balanced.

To help answer your question, most quality clutch manufacturers will offer both a weighted stock replacement version of their clutch and flywheel and a neutral balanced version. Just check with them and tell them which you need. Often there are different part numbers for each. Good luck with the build.
