WOW ! Maybe GM did lax up a lil on the PCM babaysitters . Considering how much a dissapointment 04-05 GTP performance was , thats ALOT better than I woulda guessed out da box . Seeing that , Im sure one the GP guys will nab a 13 sec Et stock . Nice

i was hoping for a 14.0 or 14.1, i managed to run my moms 04 GTP to 14.6 at 96 with a 2.35 60ft.

 

Yeh if the mags are doing 6.0/14.3 there will definitely be owners goings into the 13's at the track.

 

Finally, they are in Honda accord v6 territory.

 

My '97 L67 Bonneybeater SE goes 14.5s at 97.xx with only a 3.5" pulley and a 9" K&N open cone. If I put the K&N in a proper cold air box and had a 3.4" pulley, I'm guessin' it would be a dead heat.

Well, atleast its not slow.

 

Fantastic times.

But it's going to be a bit of a downer to to do it yourselfers. You'll no longer be able to get massive performance gains by simply buy buying a $20 pulley.

 

Will you even be able to safely make power gains..?? From what I've read its programmed to hold the hp down since the trans cant take it. Which would be a bummer

 

Its still kintergarden easy to get massive reliable gains with the LS engines though . Alot of people did that $20 pulley and didnt do the mods that cooralated with the higer boost levels and hurt the engine . How appealing is just that pulley swap now .

 

The Grand Prix's aftermarket is huge and the GXP will fall right into the GTP aftermarket . Intense , SLP or ZZp Im sure will have the pcm babysitters programmed out and avail for purchase stat And upgraded transmissions and higher stall torque converters wont be far behind .

 

Be a lot easier to get excited (genuinely excited) if the car drove the correct set of wheels.

Am I the only one a little disappointed here? For an engine with as much peak HP as the LS1, in a car weighing about the same as an f-body, it's a good 1/2 second slower. I know, it's a FWD sedan but still, you'd think 300 HP would net you better than a 14.3
