Dyno results are in - not too shabby

Woo Hoo!

Best run: 411.6 rwhp and 408.2 rwtq

First, I did NOT lock my TC, so that would likely add another 20 hp (but i don't run with a locked convertor anyways, so not too relevant) and drop the tq somewhat. I was happy enough with the unlocked #'s.

Second, my cutout was only good for 2 rwhp and about the same toque at peak. Maybe 5 rwhp around 6K, if that. So not much gain.

Third, I ran in third gear from ~4300 -6800 rpm. Even at 6800 rpm+ the rwhp was above 400.

Fourth, there was a line up of guys wanting to dyno, so I only had two hours. The best I got my AFR was 11.9 in lower rpms, and 12.3 at higher. So there is more to be had if I have more time, likely enough. Though the changes I made didn't gain me much. I made 9 runs and all were within 3-4 rwhp of each other. That was moving from 11.8 to about 12.3 AFR.

Fifth, getting there sucked. An accident in the tunnel, and one on the E-W connector meant it was a 2 hour drive. My car was HOT after idling in traffic for 1.5 hours. Not sayiong that robbed me anything, but it sucked anyways.

Sixth (how long is this post?), uncorrected numbers were about 430 rwhp and 415 rwtq. CF was 0.96-0.97. Nice numbers on a warm day.

Lastly, I almost fried my PCM with edit. Did my last download, went to start the car, and nothing. Dead battery. Lucky for me that there was enough juice in the car to keep power to the PCM while downloading, but not enough to crank it. That was close!

I figure a 6-speed with this similar mild set up would be about 435-440 rwhp.

Now, to figure out the beer.

Closest numbers?

Well, I have to apologize to Darren for not running locked, so his guess doesn't factor in. So I owe you a beer for that.

Very close between Dan, Liam, and Cory.

Dan 414/406 off by 3/2
Cory 410/405 off by 1/3
Liam 412/405 off by 1/3

So I definitely got to pass on something to Cory and Liam. And Dan I'll buy a drink for as a consolation prize Lol!

Haha! My uncorrected #'s (actual) were about 426/413 or so, plus or minus. I only have one of my runs printed out as the uncorrected. All my other runs are SAE corrected. Correction Factor was 0.96 to 0.97.

To be honest with you, it is more than I would have guessed unlocked. I would have guessed 395-400 myself. But, there have only been a couple of A4's dyno with AFRs. So there is not a big sample size.

And I think I can safely say that 411.6 rwhp is definitely at the high end of a h/c A4 unlocked. Locked maybe, but not unlocked. So, the car is a "raped ape" in some senses...
