Traffic law question

If one officer is using a Laser gun and different officer pulls me over. The officer that flags me over states the other officer said he taged me doing 57 in a 45 using a laser gun. The officer that flags me writes me a ticket for speeding. How does that officer know I was the vehicle he was calling about. I was in a white pick-up truck with another same colored one next to me. I had pulled from Rouse to University towards UCF and got to Panara when he said he clocked me. If I was in the Camaro he would have probably been right but my work truck is slow as hell and I wasn't even up to 45 when I saw the officer tagging people. I thought that the officer doing the tagging had to give the ticket not the guy standing out in traffic waving at people over. I asked the officer about it and he said to take it to court but he still had to write me a ticket. Do I have a leg to stand on or should I go and pray he doesn't show? If he does show up should I plea no contest. Or should I ask how he knows I was actually doing that speed as he did not witness it. He had no gun or anything himself. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Re: Traffic law question

If they are working in pairs as in one clocks you and the other pulls you over, both officers must be present in court should you contest.

Thanks, One was clocking in a unmarked blue pick-up and about 10 OCSO motorcycle cops waving people over on foot.

I've often wondered that as well... I don't figure its that hard when you have an easily identifiable vehicle, but its hard to say when its a common vehicle and there are more than one present. I seriously doubt they got a tag # called to the other officer to pull you over... Let us know how this turns out.

I never pull over for cops on foot, I just wave and keep going.

Re: Traffic law question

You wouldn't have gotten far with a fleet of motorcycles sitting there. lol

The only way you'll beat this is for them to not show up in court. Sorry. You can go to court, see if they're there and then take "option 4" (court ordered traffic school). That's probably your best bet unless missing work to go to court costs you too much money.

I picked up one of those "how to beat a ticket" E-books a while back. Their suggestion was interesting but I wanted to talk to a lawyer first to see if it would have worked or not. I never tried it because it would have costed me a day's pay just to go to court so I took online traffic school. Let me know if you'd like to see it and have a lawyer give his opinion on it.

*** as a side not for all you college kids... refer to this post for the correct usage of "there, they're and their". ***
