only some of my eclipse HU is illuminating at night, any idea why?

well, this is what it is supposed to look like:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1387166493
its an eclipse 55040 and on mine only the red 'open' button (top left) the ****, and the 10 band EQ are visible at night. the radio presets, power button, track skip button/tuner, etc etc that are all lit up there arent lighting up. any ideas why? we have it wired correctly and everything is in working order. i panned through the manual and it doesnt look like there is an option to eliminate some of the illumnated areas. any help would be great.

Does applying pressure to the front of the HU with your fingers turn them on? I've seen some crappy 'loose' displays that when you push, it would turn on... usually you cant do anything except tape it tighter or something lame though...

Chances are you arent going to be able to fix it... Think you'll be shopping for a new one soon
