Question about header wrap....

I had my exhaust done and theres a rattle at certain rpms(In the back before the muffler but above the axle). I was thinking header wrap should do the trick if I wrap it around the pipe. The vibration is caused by the pipe going over the axle being too close to the heat shield. I have taken it to the shop and had them mess with it numerous times but it keeps coming back and every time I have them move it, I have to have the tips recentered/aligned again....

My question is...is header wrap adhesive? Or is there another way to keep it on there?

Also does anyone recommend any particular kind/brand before I buy the kind Jegs sells? Its needs to be pretty thick so I can just wrap it around until theres no gap between the heat shield and the pipe.....

hopefully the heat shield doesnt rattle against the floorpan after that....

Thanks guys

Re: Question about header wrap....

It's not adhesive. You will need to hose clamp it or use the special tabs that come with the kit. I would like to advise that header tape usually causes weakening of the pipe where it is applied. Since it is near the axle and the exhaust tmeps are not high at all, I would try it. It's not very abrasion resistant though fi your rubbing alot.
