'65 Club Coupe. The title shows 3200 pounds, and the Club Coupe is the lightest of the V8 A-bodies for '65. Very limited production run, with less than 7500 units. This one was built in November of '65.
The rear quarters are bubbling through, though there doesnt appear to be much, if any bondo in the car, except in the doors. Floors are pinholing now. Fenderwells are in pretty good shape. Overall a solid car for 39 years old. It was restored & customized in the mid-1980's when the paint was changed to gold.
The car needs an interior, and paint on the fenders and hood. The fenders and hood are rust free, and straight.
This car runs with the original but rebuilt 330 V8. The pulleys are not aligned properly and the radiator is not original, so I suspect the wreckless driving ticket I found under the seat (dated in 1995) was when the front-end got wrecked. The frame is completely straight and rust free, so I guess the owner found some new fenders and hood, along with some engine accessories, and sold the car at that point. I dont think it's been registered since then. This is a southern Ohio car.
I bought it as a surprise anniversary present for my wife, but I dont think I'll find the time to get it done. So, I will sell it for what I paid for it and let YOU finish it off. Add $900 in interior, $500 in paint, and you should be able to cruise the summer in a rather rare "Emissions Exempt" classic.
