Hes got an 03 cobra, black, vert, chrome wheels...****in ****!....anyway were at milan and hes driving and im in shotgun...hes never been to the track nor raced before....we get to the burnout box and before i could tell him to drive around it he was in it....i tell him to stop after the water and dry them off up to the line....he burns them a little and were prestaged...i tell him "hold the revs at 2,200 or so and then drop the clutch but feather into it"...it goes gren and he dropeed it at 2,500 and basically matted it lol....so he spun for the first 150 feet and then were off..."HOLY **** this thing pulls" is what went through my mind when he hooked....get through the trpans and get the slip...14.88@109...he asked if it was bad i said its ok for your first time but you should be a full second quicker....we get back around and stage again...i told him what i said last itme and he launched it a lot better...nailed second into 3rd bounces the limter as he crosses the line....13.62@110..2.20 60....this time he launches it the same way but a not as much spin and i told him to short shift 3rd...indeed shifting to 4th picked up some speed, as did his et...13.41@almost 111.....we were getting ready to split when he said "here see what you can do" as the keys landed in my open palm....we drive into the lanes and he gets out and says good luck...i go around the water and stage....i hold the revs at 2,200 and wait for green...greeen flashes and i aggresivly slip out the clutch while increasing throttle input accordingly...clutch fully out and matted as the drivers door reached the llights...i speed shifted it, not quite a full blown powershift but ALOT faster then he did...i shifted to 4th and was rewarded with are u ready for this? a 12.73@112!!!!!......since the clocks didnt work for my run he asked me what it ran when i got back to the pits...i smiled "12.7" he said "utt uhhh" i showed him the slip and he was like and said "Goddamn dude you drove the **** out of it"....i said "it has more in it".....we left, but a future trip is already planned.....he said hes going to get my 12.50 on tape when we go back

ohhh as far as what we killed....the first run we ran a maurader and played MAJOR catchup the whole track...SLIGHTLY winning against his 15.01
second race was against a VERY quick import...he treed and 60 footed us but only ran a 14.2
third race was against a 71-72 nova with a mild 396..ran a 13.77 so it was close..
my race was against a blown and stroked chevy 90-93 ppickup....mid 11's nuff said

i had a helluva time...first time i get to drive a cobra and its at the track...AND i drove it A LOT better then my buddy....i will have fun with THAT for a long itme

 

He's stock? Dang impressive I might say.

your telling me...there were a couple othere there and the fastest STOCK one was running 13.4-5's....i was got this warm feeling in my belly when i saw the slip lol

It's very hard to keep these cars stock.
My '03 is a daily driver (7400 miles in less than 3 months). Within a few weeks of owning it, I bought a K&N CAI. Then I ran the car at the track. After seeing what the car would do in not-so-perfect air (12.6 in ~70*/50-60% humidity), I vowed to keep it stock until fall, when I could run it in some cool, dry, power-making weather. The problem is, it's hard seeing all these guys doing a CAI, pulley and tune, making 450rwhp and running 120mph with better than stock fuel economy and driveability.
Now I have a K&N CAI, Reichard Racing 3.0" pulley and pair of 17x10.5" AFS wheels...all brand new and uninstalled...waiting to go on the car.
A "stock" '03/'04 Cobra? A pretty rare beast indeed.
