Z28 vs FLAMING FORD LIGHTING
hokayy.
so i was at the popular place for cars to hang out waiting on some friends.
a kid i know came up to me and asked me if i wanted to race a ford lighting...
i said sure
the owner of the ford lighten came over and started talking to me
some punk kid 17ish.
he inforumed me he wanted to race for $$
i said no
he insisted
i settled for 20 bucks on the race
he told me he had 14 pd pulley, chipped and some other junk.
he poped the hood and i saw aftermarket pulleys granetellie maf.
msd ignition.
i asked him if he had dynoed it and he said yes
(here is where the bs comes in)
he said 385 ft tq and 416 hp
i am laughing under my breethe now. we go to the spot and i do a warm up run and hand out the money.
we go down to race and i thought his buddy was going to get out to and flag well i guess this kid was some sort of nub
he flaged from in the car on the count of 3.
i was a good sport and still raced.
had a perfact run hooked nice and hit gears hard pulled about 3 cars by the time i met the spot we agreed the race to end at.
i came back to the parking lot collected my money.
buddy wanted to go again dble or nothing. i said no i don't want to take anymore of your money.
(also i don't race some1 that is angry they lost money)
so he says lets race for fun. i say sure we line up again and he wants me to start on the second rev.... i was like umm no..
3rd honk u honk...
i should have expected this at this point on his 2nd honk he jumped and hit the 3rd honk. i ripped him back up out of the hole taking away the 1 car jump he got and managed to pulle 1/2 a car by the end of the race.
i pulled back up to the parking spot and was going to tell him good race again. he walked up to me and ask me where his money was...
i said excuse me?
i said "first off if we were racing for money you would be paying me." he feed me some bs and my buddy with the green 95 z said lets go on the highway then. i said no i am not racing these p*$$y b*tch*s anymore especially after this crap. you got to win by 3 cars to beat this kid...
we started to walk away and they started talking junk and my buddy with the green z flipped out and ripped his shirt off and got in there face trying to figure out who was talking the crap.
all 8 of them stopped talking and backed up... me and my friends finally calmed down my friend and we started leaving and once we were about 50 meters away they started talking again saying i sprayed and all this

lol nice kill.....
i put about 5-6 car links on a 03 or 04 lighting i raced once from a light!!! we were playing with each other for about 2 miles, finally came to the light and bam, ate him good...need more lighting to feed for my camaro!!!

Why would you laugh at those HP Tq #s besides the fact that the #s are Backwards and REAL LOW for his mods?? He souds like a dumb A$$ kid but you better be carefull with Lightnings..As a former 4 time Fbody owner and a current L owner I can tell you what my L put down with my mods.
4# lower pulley ( 12psi total )
JLP Cold air induction
Predator programmer dyno tuned @ JLP.
Denso IT22 plugs gapped @ .036
ALL ELSE IS STONE STOCK
404 rwhp and 508 rwtq....#s are SAE
It runs consistant high 12s ( 12.90X ) in summer weather @ 106+.
I have not had it long enough to run in some cold winter air but I'm sure mid 12s will not be an issue.

The Lightning owner must have forgotten to take the 500lbs of tube sand out of his truck from last winter. Anything can happen on the street though.....good kill. My neighbor has an '04 Lightning that has a few bolt ons incl. a pulley and a tune....his major problem his he has no weight over the rear end so he spins a ton.

The 03-04 Lightnings do not hook very well stock. Ford increased the bedload, so they sit way to high and hook very poorly. The best 60' I could get on stock F1's was 1.989...put on a 2" drop in the back and I cut consistent 1.90's, same tires, same power. Also, you basically leave off idle to have any traction.

Hey Radd....My panties are not in a bunch. You assumed that the kid actually knows anything about his L since he couldent even get his Hp Tq #s correct. Like Canton said..Come race one running like mine and I'll have a platter to put your A$$ on..
By the way they dont weight 6,000#s. Most weight in with driver arround a trim and slim 5,000#s!!

Dyno numbers are very low for the level mods he has. Also, i believe stock L's put down something north of 430rwtq. Can't see how he's only putting down 416rwtq with those mods. Dude was pulling numbers out of his ***.

Lightnings are no joke. The newer ones like Canton said have traction probs but stiil mop up GT's. I have no desire to meet up with one as they respond very well to mods much like the 03-04 Cobras. Hands down the best truck you can buy.
