curb owned my ZR1's

i smacked a curb pretty good going around a corner with my passenger rear tire and now the lip is scratched for about 1/4 of the way around and the middle of the rim got its clearcoat scratched off

are there any local places that can fix this? or how easy is it to fix myself? it looks almost like i could sand it down and then re-clear but i'm not sure...

the lip isn't bent at all, just scratched

not sure how deep/far it goes, but you can sand the lip out.

start with ~200 grit, then go down till you sand the curb rash out of it, then go up to ~1000 grit, and then some metal polish.

kinda might not be perfect, but won't be noticed unless you tell someone.

I'd put some masking tape around the part you are sanding. or else be prepared to yell DOH!

about the clear coat, there are places that can fix the lip, weld it, reshape it, then redo the clear coat.

maybe you can just polish where the clear coat is missing?

luck. takes patience.
