Put drag radials on my 96Z 6 speed and I'm not getting horrible wheelhop...fix how??

When I spent $150+ ecah for these drag radials, I expected to get a lot out of them, but I'm very disappointed.

I dump the clutch on the car at like 1500 or 2000 rpm and it does the worst wheel hop ever, and then I power shift into second and get the same thing again.

All my buddy's say to get traction bars.....Are control arms the same thing? Will these fix the problem? I'd like to get a BMR Torque Arm but I have an x-pipe custom exhaust setup which comes close to it, and I'm afraid the BMR will not clear the exhaust.

Is the BMR torque arm larger than the stock one?
Will control arms fix the wheel hope problem?
What else is suggested?

Thanks

Yes LCA's should fix or at least help your wheel hop issue. As for the torque arm that would help out even more but i'm not sure if the BMR will work with your Xpipe.

Well, what DRs are you running?

Also are you pre-heating them? If not, then therein lays your problems... Both Nittos and BFGs require a nice burn-out to get them heated up and gooy before they will stick really well.

Although be forewarned that if you do get them gooey and they do hold, you can break things...

Definitely get some adjustable control arms w/ relocation brackets. You can cheap out a bit by boxing in the stockers and getting relocation brackets. For the costs, I'd just go ahead and get a set of LCAs from Spohn or BMR and be done with it.

Not sure what to say about the torque arm/x-pipe situation since I have no idea what your exhaust is like. A stnadard torque arm like Spohn or BMR's "shouldn't" interfere w/ the exhaust, but since yours is apparently different, that may not be true for you.

The only spot where my exhaust could be in the way of a torque arm is up near where it connects to the transmission....I think I should be all set.

I'll get the BMR Chrome Moly Traction Package 2 from lmperformance.com

The car seems to be hopping when the tires are both hot and cold. I haven't tried doing a burnout before laucnhing yet. I'll try that soon

Driving them around gets them warm, not hot...

a nice burnout at about 4K rpm, where they start to smoke nicely, then try to launch...
