Angry Raced a new Chevy Truck.

Okay, I'm driving down Georgia Rt. 222 and I'm cruising behind this Jeep. Then this guy comes up behind me in his new petwer Silverado(had the Avalanche front clip). It was regular cab, short box, and looked to be lowered.

He rides my *** for a couple of miles and then the Jeep turns off. So I nail it and he goes for it to. He was 2 carlengths back and we stay almost even at WOT until I reach 80 and there's a turn, so I slow down for the turns, and I take them pretty fast and he is still back there. Its kind of a winding road with a speed limit of 50, so you can go pretty fast through the curves, I was hauling a@@ for about 4 miles and this guy stayed on me like glue. I was doing anywhere from 50-70 around these curves.

Then the road opened up to a long straight, and he whips around to the left to pass. I thought Hell no you aren't getting past me. So I nail it and we take it out to 120, once again he managed to keep up. Then we had to shut down because of traffic ahead. The road ended and I turned left, while he turned right doing a nice powerslide.

That was a lot of fun racing that guy, but he really caught me off guard with that truck.

To me it sounds like that guy had to have a blower to stay with you. At least it was a chevy.

He had to have some power adder or a bunch of bolt ons. I know those trucks have over 300 HP but they weigh alot more than the Fbody.

Good races though.

wrx, wtf

I don't know how his truck sounded, if it had a blower whine, or a loud exhaust. I had my cutout open the whole time, sometimes the noise drowns out the radio

My buddy has a stock 2001 GMC pickup with the 5.3 V8 It feels pretty stout and can do just a good as burnout as my camaro. We were on the highway racing a guy in a Nissian one day, had him by about 2 car lengths until the computer shut us down at 98, the nissian guy proceeded to rape us. Made us mad that we had the faster car and still lost.

The front of the Silverado SS looks like an avalanche front clip. They are also a little lower. Maybe that was what you ran. I don't know all of the specs on them.

I believe that the SS's run high 14's in the 1/4. I could be wrong though.

I talked to a guy here that has one. Its got the 5.3 and he has a ls6 cam and some other bolt ons. With a 150 shot he ran a 13.1.

My firewall stopped a bunch of programs trying to load just by clicking on that garbage car-stats page...

Definetly wasn't an SS, it was regular cab, short box, and the bumper had chrome and black plastic on it. I bet he had some serious mods done because it looked lower and had some big wheels on it. And the guy had a mullet too, definetly don't want to get beat by a redneck with a mullet.

All the new 03+ silverado's look like an Avalanche from the front, GM gave them a face lift. The SS's are pigs, and slow as crap, you more than likely ran into a 5.3 with a blower and some minor mods. I've done a couple at work and my buddy has one, they can be made pretty quick, and you can get rid of that limiter with just about any hand held programmer.
